The EPL-16BSxJH-1X150LED-100 Explosion Proof LED Light from Larson Electronics is rated Class 1, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups C and D and Class 2, Divisions 1 and 2. This portable LED flood light includes a scaffold mount J-hook mount and portable pedestal mount. Both mounts incorporate a high output Cree LED light head to produce 21,000Â lumens of light while drawing only 150 watts, and allow operators to easily swap the LED fixture between mounts within the field.
The EPL-16BSxJH-1X150LED-100 explosion proof LED light provides 10,000 square feet of work area coverage with 21,000 lumens of light output. This portable LED light provides two mounting systems. The scaffold mounting system consists of an aluminum rail/ladder bracket that can be adjusted from 26 inches to 43 inches to allow mounting to a wide variety of railings, scaffoldings or ladders with a slip fit mounting system for the light head assembly to attach to the scaffold mount. The portable base stand consists of a four leg aluminum base with a slip fit style attachment for the light head bracket to attach to the pedestal base stand. The LED light head produces a brilliant flood pattern of light that is ideal for illuminating enclosed areas and hazardous locations where flammable vapors, gases and dusts may be present. The two mounting platforms share one light head that is swapped between the two mounts as needed. Often referred to as simply a “tank light,†this unit is considered universal due to its ability to be passed through any conventional manhole such as those found in petrochemical containers and ship storage tanks.
The LED light head is offered in a 60° narrow flood for greater distance and a 125° wide flood that produces a brilliant flood pattern of light that is ideal for illuminating enclosed areas and further adds to this units desirability as a portable tank lighting solution. This explosion proof LED light fixture is comprised of a 22" x 14" LED light head mounted within a rectangle frame fabricated from non sparking aluminum. This frame features round tubing at the top of the frame which acts as a carrying handle, allowing operators to remove the light head frame assembly from one stand and move to another.
The scaffold mounting system features adjustable J-shaped top and bottom hooks that enables operators to securely mount the light to any ladder or scaffolding. The pedestal base stand mount provides stable temporarily lighting in various locations, as needed. Lamp adjustment is via an adjustable yolk that allows the operator to position the lamp angle through a full 90 degrees of vertical adjustment. All hardware on this unit is non sparking/corrosion resistant and the power cord is chemicals and abrasion resistant.
Transferring the unit through manholes consists of simply removing the light head from the mounting platform, passing the light head and mount through the manhole separately, and then reassembling the unit once inside. The lamp can be easily adjusted up or down 90 degrees and locked into position by simply loosening the two hand screws located on either side of the light head and re-tightening them once the desired angle is found. Included with this LED lighting system is 100 feet of SOOW cord, which combined with the 90° of tilt offered by the LED light head and dual mounting assemblies provide an effective alternative to often cumbersome explosion proof string lights.
