Made in Texas The EPSLED-2X80-STB-SOL-60C-ILS-20C-C1D2-20C from Larson Electronics is a Solar Powered Explosion Proof Dual LED Indicator Light that is a reliable lighting solution for remote areas and standalone applications where connection to external power is either impractical or unavailable. Each 7-watt lamp offers 360 degrees of illumination and is protected by a cage guard. Charged by a Class I, Division 2 solar panel, six 12 V AC 18 aH sealed lead acid batteries provide constant, reliable power to the LED lights. The EPSLED-2X80-STB-SOL-60C-ILS-20C-C1D2-20C is outfitted with an explosion proof inline switch. The EPSLED-2X80-STB-SOL-60C-ILS-20C-C1D2-20C is a sustainable Dual LED Indicator lighting solution for hazardous locations and remote sites. Each explosion proof 7-watt lamp operates on 12 V DC. Charged by the Class I, Division 2 rated solar panel, six 12V AC 18aH sealed lead acid batteries provide constant, reliable power. The batteries, 24V Class I, Division 2 charge controller and battery disconnect are contained within a NEMA 4X remote enclosure and must be installed within a Class I, Division 2 environment.
This solar-powered dual LED light is constructed of cast aluminum with a polyester powder coated finish. The IP67-rated unit comes with a T3C temperature rating. Designed for extreme work sites, the LED lamp is UL tested to withstand 1,490 lb. LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life. LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. Solid state LED lighting is also safer for the environment as LEDs are 100% recyclable. And recycling simultaneously reduces operating costs by eliminating the need for the expensive special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps. Power: This EPSLED-2X80-STB-SOL-60C-ILS-20C-C1D2-20C is powered by six 12 V AC 18 aH sealed lead acid batteries that are recharged by the solar panel. These rechargeable batteries provide a continuous supply of steady, reliable power. The lead acid battery pack is contained within the solar panel, not the light. Charging time for the battery bank is 5 hours when exposed to direct sunlight. As with all solar powered equipment, charging time is affected by the amount of available ambient light. Indirect sunlight and low ambient light levels, such as on cloudy days, will extend the charge time. Inline Switch: The EPSLED-2X80-STB-SOL-60C-ILS-20C-C1D2-20C is equipped with the explosion proof tumbler switch. The switch functions as the only means of powering the light on and off. The inline switch includes seal offs. The included seal offs are not filled so that operators may install them in the field. The required chico fiber and chico compound are also included. Wiring: The EPSLED-2X80-STB-SOL-60C-ILS-20C-C1D2-20C is equipped with 20 feet of 10/2 SOOW cord between the solar panel and battery enclosure, 60 feet of 10/2 SOOW between the battery enclosure and inline switch, and two 10 foot lengths of 10/2 SOOW split by a Y-connector. Each 10' length leads to one of the light fixtures. This allows for a maximum distance of 20 feet between the two light fixtures. Mounting: The EPSLED-2X80-STB-SOL-60C-ILS-20C-C1D2-20C features an inverted pendant mount for compatible surfaces, walls or ceilings. This mounting configuration ensures maximum visibility of the explosion proof LED fixture. NOTE: Larson Electronics has further upgraded the options available with this light. We expect the lights to be mounted separately from the panel. This means the solar panel can be mounted in direct sunlight (not in the hazardous area) while the light is mounted in a hazardous area workspace. Standard installation for explosion proof lighting, including threaded rigid pipe to the LED light fixture and appropriate seal-offs, etc. are required.
