' Product Overview '
The Larson Electronics SPLED-IND-PED-WS-24.24-DF-MS Pedestrian LED Crossing Sign enhances pedestrian safety and is ideal for parking lots and sidewalks. The double-sided crosswalk sign measures 24"x24" and leverages a Class I rated LED strobe with an adjustable motion sensor for illuminative notifications, when movement is detected. This unit is a 100% remote system powered by a solar panel. Color choices for the LED beacon include green, amber, red, white or blue. The SPLED-IND-PED-WS-24.24-DF-MS offers illuminated safety for pedestrians. Reflective material on the double-faced yellow/black sign ensures visibility, when viewed from different angles. Measuring 24"x24", the unit features a Class I rated LED beacon located above the sign. The LED strobe light is activated when movement is detected by the adjustable motion sensor, which supports a minimum sensing range of 25`. The motion sensor can be pointed in different directions, allowing the sign to face traffic, while the sensor faces the direction of crosswalk traffic. The light will stay on for 15 seconds after motion is detected and the sensitivity of the sensor can be adjusted to meet each application. The powerful LED beacon is equipped with 30 flash patterns, including four simulated rotating patterns. This beacon has a black powder coated die cast base that contains a fully potted circuit board. A clear polycarbonate lens protects the LED assembly; and the housing is waterproof, shock resistant and built for reliable operations. The strobe light is equipped with auxiliary LEDs on top, helping to make this a Class I rated beacon.

LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps. Power/Wiring: This unit is 100% remote, powered by a solar panel. The 30 watt solar panel recharges the battery in 5 hours with direct sunlight. As with all solar powered equipment, charging time is affected by the amount of available ambient light. When ambient light levels drop below a certain level, such as on very cloudy days, the unit will not recharge. A sealed lead acid battery pack is contained within the solar panel, not the crosswalk sign. The mounting apparatus is designed to allow a variety of mounting options including flat surfaces such as a wall and square or round pole mounting. The crosswalk sign is connected to the panel by a 10 foot 16/2 SOOW cord that provides flexibility for positioning of the solar panel and sign into their respective optimum locations independently of each other. Mount: The solar panel is weatherproof and designed to catch the maximum amount of sunlight possible when properly mounted. The motion sensor will activate the light upon detecting movement within range of the panel and keep the light on for 15 seconds after detection. For best results and to ensure clarity, the double-faced pedestrian sign should be mounted in a way that both sides are visible.
