' Product Overview '
The SPLT-2.4K-1600A-2XLM-30-8X120W-LED-ISDG-BC.40.240 from Larson Electronics is a Solar Powered Dual Light Tower that produces 86,000 lumens of high intensity LED light for wide-area coverage. This dual light tower system features eight LED lamps and solar panels with a 4kW diesel generator for backup power. A heavy-duty trailer enables quick transportation, stable deployment and storage. *PLEASE NOTE: ANY FREE SHIPPING OFFERS DO NOT APPLY TO MASTS OR TRAILERS* This solar powered security light tower includes 2,400-watt solar panels, battery bank, accessible outlets, diesel generator, eight LED lamps, and a pair of 30-foot light towers each holding four of the LED lamps on either side of the solar panel array. All system components are secured on a trailer for seamless mobility. Light Tower: Each light mast can be extended to 30' for maximum area coverage and collapsed to 8.75' for applications where a smaller footprint is required. The towers are constructed of square steel tubing with a base section 6.6' in length and 6" by 6" by 3/16" thick, lower section 6.78' in length and 5" by 5" by 3/16" thick, middle section 6.93' in length and 4" by 4" by 1/8" thick, upper section 7.08' in length and 3" by 3" by 1/8" thick, and top section 7.58' in length and 2" by 2" by 1/8" thick. Each section has a 1'+ overlap. The masts are extended to their full height using an included 3,000 lb manual hand winch with 3/16" galvanized steel cable on each mast. The LM series of telescoping towers are powder coated with glossy blue finish for corrosion resistance and aesthetics. A 44" wide and 2" by 2" by 1/4" thick mounting plate is attached to the upper section of the mast which provides a strong and stable platform for the light fixtures. The LM family of telescoping towers feature a proprietary mast guidance system, which provides increased stability during high winds. When lowered to 8.75', the masts can withstand winds up to 125 mph. When elevated to their full upright position, the masts can be rotated a full 360°. By loosening the T-Handle, operators can rotate the masts with ease in either direction. The masts can be positioned in one of four different directions, and locked back in place by re-tightening the T-handle. The masts themselves spins freely, and can typically be rotated with a single hand.
Solar Panel Assembly: This unit is comprised of weatherproof solar panels at 2,400 watts total. The panels can be deployed and adjusted manually in order to maximize sunlight intake. Battery/Outlets: The battery bank offers 1,600aH at 24V and comes with a 40-amp battery charger. Operators may access the following receptacles on the system: (2) 50-amp twist [120/240V] and (4) 20-amp [120V]. Diesel Generator: The system is equipped with a diesel generator for backup power. This 4kW unit has a 30-gallon fuel tank capacity. An auto start function enables automatic activation when needed. Grid Tie: The SPLT-2.4K-1600A-2XLM-30-8X120W-LED-ISDG-BC.40.240 can be grid tied to local power sources, when solar power is not required. If local power is available, the system will run using the local grid. Operators may access an auto transfer switch, which automatically switches over to the diesel generator if local grid tie is not used. For optimal clean energy use and reliability, the battery bank is charged in the following order: solar, grid tie and diesel generator. The system starts with solar to charge the batteries. If solar is unavailable, it switches to grid tie then to diesel generator. Component Control Center: All the electrical components are encapsulated in a NEMA 3R job box that is bolted to the trailer. Since most of these components are not rated for high heat, our component cooling system circulates air within the job box at 1400 CFM when the ambient temperature exceeds 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Lighting: The lighting system on this unit is comprised of eight, 120-watt LED lamps producing 86,000 total lumens with a 4,000K color temperature rating. The lights are attached to the end of the telescoping light boom. These floodlights produce a wide flood light pattern capable of illuminating a minimum of 1-2 acres. Each floodlight is securely fastened to the light boom and each lamp includes a support bracket to help maintain lamp stability within its housing. The units are protected by a strengthened glass lens. LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life. LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps. Transport: All system components are secured on a heavy-duty trailer. This trailer measures 8'-W x 23' 6"-L x 10' 6"-H. At full deployment, the unit measures 12' 6"-W x 22'-L x 21'-H. This system weighs approximately 8,450 lbs.
