' Product Overview '
The EPSW-EL-MF-316SS-5A-RE from Larson Electronics is an Explosion Proof Mass Flow Switch that is designed for measuring and monitoring total mass flow rates of liquids and gases in Class I, Division 1 environments. This unit operates on 110 V AC and supports a sensor for high temperature applications, as well as remotely located electronic components. The explosion proof device is constructed of 316L stainless steel and comes with a 3/4" NPT hub for completing connections. The EPSW-EL-MF-316SS-5A-RE features dual RTD sensors and a wide operating temperature range of -100°F to +850°F (-70°C to +458°C). The EPSW-EL-MF-316SS-5A-RE is an explosion proof immersible mass flow meter, which can be used to measure total mass flow rates of various liquids and gases, via an enclosed conduit. This device operates on 110 V AC and contains a sensor designed for high heat applications, as well as remotely located electronics. An extended 10" neck allows deeper insertion of the sensor. The device utilizes thermal dispersion as the principle of operation. Thermal properties may vary, depending on the type of material being measured or monitored. Because of this, thermal dispersion will depend on such properties and the mass flow at the sensor. As a heated element, mass flow rate is indicated by the rate of temperature drop or measured power consumption. Outputs for remote electronic components include DPDT relay contacts, rated at 5 amps, 250 V AC with fail-safe capabilities. During power up, the unit supports integral and automatic self-testing features. Fast response time, at a rate of 0.5 to 10 seconds depending on the the media, and a self-heating sensor design, for improved repeatability of ±1% of setpoint, ensures dependable operation. This explosion proof device is constructed of 316L stainless steel. The NEMA-rated explosion proof mass flow meter is CSA approved and suitable for Class I, Division 1 (Groups B, C, D) environments and combustible work sites. The EPSW-EL-MF-316SS-5A-RE has a wide flow range of 0.1 to 5 feet per second (FPS) in oil, 2.5 FPS in water, and .1 to 500 FPS in gases. Mounting: The EPSW-EL-MF-316SS-5A-RE is compatible with conduit mounting requirements. Operators can access a 3/4" NPT hub for completing process connections and mounting configurations. Applications: Petroleum refineries, chemical and petrochemical plants, paint spray booths, food manufacturing buildings, meter readings, liquid monitoring, gas monitoring and more.
