Made in the USA The HAL-TRN-400-NB from Larson Electronics is a Hazardous Area Metal Halide Light Housing that produces exceptional illumination from a 400 watt metal halide lamp (not included). Constructed of die cast aluminum and NRTL listed for wet areas, this metal halide housing is a versatile and ideal hazardous area lighting solution for areas where wet or damp environments may be encountered. *Please note: This is for the housing only and does NOT include a bulb or ballast.* The durable HAL-TRN-400-NB metal halide light fixture housing is suitable for use in wet outdoor environments, making it an ideal lighting solution for industrial applications, boat docks, building exteriors, and outdoor work areas. The lamp housing is weather resistant and constructed of pressure cast copper free aluminum with an architectural bronze Polyester finish. The lens door is pressure-cast copper-free aluminum, and secured with 1/4" diameter captive stainless steel slotted hex-head bolts. The operator can install a remote ballast (not included) for hot box applications. The optical assembly includes thermal shock and impact resistant door glass with a pressure-cast copper-free aluminum door frame and heavy duty, high temperature silicone rubber seal. The lamp socket is a specification grade mogul base porcelain unit with heavy gauge brass, a nickel-plated, double lamp-grip screw shell and spring-loaded center contact. The reflectors are a double segment compound parabolic design with Alzak® finish for maximum efficiency. Mounting choices include: (1) Yoke mount: zinc plated steel yoke with architectural bronze Polyester finish. (2) Poletop mount: built-in slip-fitter for internal wiring. Adjustable laterally and vertically. Slip fits 2" or 2 1/2" pipe. Architectural bronze Polyester finish. This hazardous area light is NRTL rated to UL 844 and UL 1598, approved for use in Class I Division 2, Groups A,B,C,D hazardous environments, and is functionable in an environment of up to 180°C.This lamp is suitable for use in areas were flammable gases and vapors are present occasionally. This metal halide light housing is highly durable, can operate in ambient temperatures to 180°C, and will not produce temperatures greater than 325°C. All hardware on this unit is resistant to rain, snow, salt water, and corrosive chemicals. The heavy duty design and attractive finish of this fixture makes it a popular choice for outdoor applications regardless of whether the locations are designated hazardous or not. LAMPS: Use only lamps specified on nameplate. Bulb NOT included with fixture. Observe lamp manufacturer's recommendations and restrictions on lamp operation, particularly ballast type, burning position, etc. Wiring: Make all electrical connections in accordance with the National Electrical Code and any applicable local code requirements. Verify that supply voltage is correct by comparing it to nameplate. Three-conductor No. 14 cable (with 90° C minimum insulation) is recommended for making electrical connections. Wiring is accomplished through the wiring box provided on the fixture. The box is provided with a size 3/4-in. NPT threaded conduit opening. Wiring methods must comply with NFPA 70 (The National Electrical Code), Article 501 for Class I, Division 2 Hazardous (Classified) Locations. To get inside the unit, open the door, loosen the (2) screws holding the reflector and remove the reflector. Verify the correct supply voltage and lamp wattage. Bulb NOT included.
