' Product Overview '
The MT-BBT-208D-240D-3P-46.9A Three Phase Energy Efficient Buck and Boost 50/60Hz Transformer from Larson Electronics is powerful, reliable and designed with the environment in mind. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications, the MT-BBT-208D-240D-3P-46.9A provides increased reliablity, protection against critical equipment failures and an extra level of protection by isolating the power source from the connected device. The lower operating costs, lower heat emissions and lower cost of ownership make this transformer ideal for a wide range of applications and businesses. *PLEASE NOTE: ANY FREE SHIPPING OFFERS DO NOT APPLY TO POWER DISTRIBUTION PANELS, TRANSFORMERS, OR SUBSTATIONS* Transformer Features: With a transformer rating of 19.1 kVA, the MT-BBT-208D-240D-3P-46.9A buck and boost transformer is a three phase unit with a primary voltage of 208V AC and 53.1 amps on the input side. It also provides a secondary voltage of 240V and has 46.9 amps available on the secondary side. Featuring robust construction, this unit`s cores are manufactured with non-aging, cold-rolled silicon steel laminations using state of the art technology. This unit boasts a low cost of ownership and is highly energy efficient. Lower heat emissions mean that less cooling is needed as well. The NEMA 3R painted steel enclosure makes this unit suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications and it can be either floor or wall mounted. This unit features 180°C insulation with a 115°C temperature rise. Benefits: The MT-BBT-208D-240D-3P-46.9A buck and boost three phase transformer offers many benefits to the consumer. Precision cut copper transformer winding material helps to improve performance. The close tolerances used during manufacturing also eliminates burrs which hinder performance. Each core is specially coated to prevent the ingress of moisture and are electrically balanced to minimize axial forces during short circuit situations. Buck and boost transformers are designed to maximize the performance and life of electrical equipment. Buck and boost transformers are a type of transformer that is designed to make adjustments to the voltage applied to alternating current equipment. These transformers can either step up (boost) the input voltage or step down (buck) the input voltage to the appropriate level for the specific application. Buck and boost transformers are used to make small changes of less than thirty percent to the voltage coming in. *Please note that a buck and boost transformer can only change voltage and NOT frequency or phase.* This transformer provides owners with significant energy savings as well as offering environmental benefits. Higher efficiency not only extends the life of the transformer, but also turns into cost savings for owners in the form of lower energy bills and decreased cost of ownership. Integrated floor or wall mounting brackets make installation fast and easy.
Benefits and Features Limitations
Low Cost Compact Size Light Weight Highly Efficient More Economical than Equivalent Distribution Transformer Can handle loads up to 20 times the nameplate rating when connected as an auto transformer Indoor or Outdoor Service UL Certified There are a few limitations that are very common among most of the commercially available buck-boost transformers: Cannot be used to develop a three phase, four wire wye circuit from a three phase, three wire delta circuit. Cannot be used in a closed delta connection. Should not be used to correct for voltage drop on a long circuit run where the load demand fluctuates. Cannot be used to create a 240/120V, single phase service from a 208Y/120V three phase supply.
Applications: Air conditioners, lighting systems, heating elements, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units for computers, motor applications and other applications that that require the ability to power loads that differ from the available line voltage. Larson Electronics is a manufacturer and as such can build stationary and portable transformer systems to your specifications. Although we carry several models of power distribution transformer systems, we can deliver custom ordered units almost as quickly as our prebuilt units. If this model does not meet your needs, please contact us at 1-800-369-6671 or to discuss your specific requirements. Specifications / Additional Information
