Made in the USA
The Larson Electronics EPL-48-2L-LED-LV 12 / 24 Volt Explosion Proof LED Light Fixture is NRTL Listed for United States and Canada Class 1 Division 1, Class II Division I, and is NRTL Certified to UL 844 for use within oil rigs, paint spray booths and other hazardous location areas. This unit has a T6 temperature rating and carries a paint spray booth certification.
The EPL-48-2L-LED-LV is designed to use Larson Electronics specially constructed 12/24 volt LED T-series bulbs which produce 15% more foot candles of illumination at 8 feet as compared to standard T8 lamps and is NRTL Certified to UL 844 Class 1 Division 1 and Class II Division 1. This low voltage fixture can operate on 12 or 24 volts AC or DC. This makes it useful in remote applications where battery banks are used or where OSHA or internal safety standards mandate low voltage lighting. Our LED-T series bulbs are visibly brighter than standard T8s and consistently surprise many of our customers with their unexpectedly high light output levels.
We have replaced two 8 foot dual lamp T8 fixtures in our own facility with our LED T series lamps and produced more illumination in the work area with only one 2 lamp 4 foot long LED fixture. We now offer our second generation LED tube lamps with this fixture which have increased this unit’s performance.
We have eliminated the ballast box normally associated with explosion proof fluorescent fixtures which reduces overall weight and overall complexity of installation. There is no ballast in this unit and the included  LED lamps have a 50,000+ hour service life, both of which result in extreme efficiency and greatly reduced maintenance costs. These fluorescent LED lamps have internal drivers, eliminating external power components. The solid state design of the LED lamps give this fixture superior resistance to damage from vibration, extremes in temperature and a lamp service life over twice that of standard fluorescent bulbs. This second generation lamp is offered in 5600K cool white, 4500K natural white, and 3000K warm white. Our standard unit ships with 5600K unless different color temperature is specified.
Unlike the glass tube design of traditional fluorescent lamps, these LED T-Style lamps have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation. Instead of using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current applied and emitting light. The LED assembly is mounted to the "tube" constructed from extruded aluminum, with a polycarbonate lens protecting the LEDs. With LED lights, there is no warm up time or cool down time before re-striking and provide instant illumination when powered on, adding to the reliability of LED technology. By nature, LED light sources run significantly cooler than fluorescent lamps, reducing the chance of accidental burns and increased temperatures due to heat emissions. This solid state design of light emitting diodes provides a more reliable, stable, durable, and energy efficient light source over traditional fluorescent lighting.
The 24 watt LED lamps produce more illumination than standard T8 bulbs, but draw only 3/4 of current. An EPL-48-2L-T8 explosion proof fluorescent light, with a combined total of 64 watts, draws 0.54 amps @120 volts. This LED version of the same light, with a total of 56 watts, draws only .4 amps. The EPL-48-2L-LED-LV is multi-voltage and works with any voltage between 9-32V DC, making it ideal for 12 and 24 volt DC applications. We also offer this lamp in a 120-277 standard voltage model.

Our EPL-48-2L-LED-LV LED light fixture is NRTL Listed for United States and Canada approved for use in paint spray booths. Please note, according to the NEC, using threaded rigid pipe does not require additional seal offs with this fixture. An EYM and seal off is necessary for flex conduit or other non-rigid pipe implementations.
Mounting Options:Â Unless otherwise specified, our standard, most popular configuration is the bracket end mounting shown enlarged below. We also offer a pendant mount for those needing to suspend the fixture away from the ceiling surface (i.e. suspend from pipe or conduit). Additional mounting configurations can be customized to meet the requirements on the application. Please contact us for special mounting configurations.
Surface Mount (Standard)
Adjustable Surface Mount Brackets:Â Each bracket is cinched to the bracket mounting peg on each side of the light. The angle of the bracket is set by tightening two cap screws on either side of the bracket. The cap screws act as a set screw. The bracket itself is mounted via a single bolt hole at the top the bracket. There are two brackets, one on each end of the light. Once the brackets are mounted to a surface (ceiling, floor or wall), the light fixture can be removed from the brackets by loosening the cap screws that hold the bracket to the mounting peg.
Pendant Mount (Optional)

Suspension Mounting: Pendant mount fixtures hang from the ceiling and are suspended by rigid pipe. Each fixture features a 1/2†NPT junction box on one end, and a 1/2†NPT adjustable L-bracket on the other end of the fixture. Operators bring rigid pipe down to the threaded mounting hubs. Wiring is fed down through the rigid pipe to the junction box and tied in to the fixture’s lead wires, completing the electrical connection. The adjustable L-shape mounting bracket provides support for the opposite end of the fixture.
Suggested Applications:Â Paint spray booths, aircraft maintenance, oil drilling rigs, refineries, solvent and cleaning areas, gas processing plants, chemical manufacturing, waste treatment plants, gas processing plants.

Refund Policy
Return & Refund Policy
For All non-Larson Products If you are not satisfied with a product, contact us by emailing or call 1-844-787-LITE within 30 days of receipt. A refund may be arranged excluding freight charges upon inspection. Returned merchandise must be shipped in original packaging, freight prepaid, unused, and in resalable condition, and are subject to 25% restocking fee. PuriLite inspects all returns and reserves the right to refuse credits on damaged, used or non-resalable items. Your only obligation is the freight charge and restocking fee, provided your return is complete with original packaging, all documentation, warranty cards, cables etc. PuriLite reserves the right to authorize product returns after 30 days have passed from the order date. If the product is accepted after this period, it is subject to a 25% restocking fee and credit will be issued toward future purchases only.
Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable for all returns. The customer may also be responsible for return shipping charges, insurance and shipment tracking for returned merchandise.
Once you place an order, the following products are non-returnable: custom-cut, customer built or special order items (such as matting, slings, cranes, prefab offices, buildings, mezzanines, assembled lockers and regularly stocked items such as generators, pressure washers, water and trash pumps, snow throwers, radio headsets, striping paint, line stripers, floor care machines, vacuums, custom fabric chairs, forklifts) your order is considered non-cancellable and any custom-cut, customer built or special order items purchased by you are also non-returnable. Consumable style bulbs or lamps are not returnable. There are no returns on any medical and/or sanitizing products for obvious safety reasons. This includes PPE (including masks), tests, thermometers, sprayers and UVC lighting of any kind (portable and surface).
Leased and hazardous items are also non-returnable. Contact customer service for a complete list of applicable products.
Larson product return policy Every order is tested prior to shipping. The product is tested before it is put into the shipping box, crate, pallet, etc. Larson take pictures and videos of every product for every order being shipped, and store these pictures and videos with the order number in our system. Because of the complexity of some of our products, we have a very limited return policy.
For safety reasons, we do not accept returns on any hazardous location, explosion proof or intrinsically safe products. Once these products leave the factory, we cannot be sure what happens to them. We must re-build and re-certify the units to specification to ensure that the next customer receives an item that is safe to use. This is cost prohibitive. For that reason, we do not accept returns on classified products. We do not accept returns on transformers, phase converters, or frequency converters. In order to install one of the aforementioned products, typically customers will modify the product (i.e. penetrate the housing to make connections, punch out knockouts, remove or damage tinning on lead wires during installation). Because we video test every unit before it ships to ensure the unit operates as described, we know when they leave here the units are operationally functional and meet the output voltage when supplied with the input voltage per the product specification. To be clear, we do not accept returns on these items under any circumstances for these reasons.
Products that are not addressed in the above two conditions must be returned in new, unused condition.
Below are some additional considerations:
Electrical/electronic parts are easily damaged by improper installation or testing. Because electronics are very sensitive to voltage overloads, it does not take much of a voltage spike to ruin a component. Because of this risk, all electrical products returned will undergo electrical testing and assessed a testing fee. This fee will be subtracted from the final return value.
Consumable style bulbs or lamps are not returnable.
Products that contain emergency backup components are subject to very narrow warranty terms and do not qualify for return. For customer convenience, we engage the battery pack prior to shipping all emergency backup products. Many times, particularly with hazardous location rated products, the battery packs are difficult to access and the customer generally plans to install the units shortly after receipt of the shipment. Battery backup components using older technologies (Nicad, NIMH, SLA, etc) will fail quickly if they do not maintain valid grid tie support. In other words, the batteries must receive a consistent maintained charge to perpetuate long lifespans. Battery backup products that are shelved (not installed) for periods greater than 3 weeks will likely fail and need replacement sooner. This replacement will not be covered under warranty. This can also occur is the units are installed but the grid tie option is not connected correctly. Customers can specify that they do not want the battery pack to be engaged at the time of ordering if they plan to shelve the units for long periods of time prior to installation.
There are many products on the site and not all pictures depict the exact configuration of each product. Many products are custom built and/or built on demand. In some cases, products are designed and not sold immediately and rendering may be used. In all cases, the end product is built to the specification listed and the pictures shown may be close approximations. Pictures are more likely to be close approximations with more complex products, including transformers, power distribution systems, control systems, light tower systems and other highly customizable products. In no way does the approximation validate a potential return. We always build to the specification. If customers have questions, they should ask prior to purchase to clarify.
There are no returns on any medical and/or sanitizing products for obvious safety reasons. This includes PPE (including masks), tests, thermometers, sprayers and UVC lighting of any kind (portable and surface)
Many international orders, specialty orders and other complex build orders require prepayment in advance. This prepayment represents a commitment to the order. Cancelling the order will result in a deduction from the original amount paid if any refund is available, since an investment of time and money is typically required to acquire materials and prepare the order. While not all orders in this category require prepayment, cancellation fees may apply to other build orders as well. The percentage of the deduction is at Larson’s discretion but usually ranges from 30 to 50%.
