This 144-watt unit features four, 4-foot T8 UV fluorescent lamps, housed in a 22 gauge painted steel housing. The luminary caters to flat surface mounting mounting and operates on 120-277V AC, 50/60 Hz. ***PLEASE NOTE: UV-C light can cause temporary or permanent loss of vision, and temporary acute redness or ulceration (mild to severe sunburn) to exposed skin. To prevent exposure, do not operate the device in any application that allows UV-C light to be visible during operation. NEVER LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE BULB OR DISINFECTING TARGET ZONE. Consisting of four, 4-foot T8 fluorescent UV lamps, the 144-watt unit offers 254nm UVC output with a wavelength range of 200nm to 280nm. Each lamp produces 14.8W of UVC output and has a radiant intensity of 145 uW/cm2. This UV fixture operates on 120-277 V AC, 50/60 Hz (ballast voltage) and features a G13 medium bi-pin cap base. The lamp has an 8,000-hour useful lifespan. Operation: The IND-HB-48-4L-UVC-T8-V1 should only be used in non-occupied areas. The UVC radiation produced by this fixture is not safe for skin or eyes. These fixtures should also be set up on a separate circuit from other lighting. It is also advised to use a control circuit that incorporates a motion sensor with groupings of fixtures. This adds a level of safety because the lights will turn off if someone enters the area while the lights are on. The UV light's housing is constructed of 22 gauge painted steel. This UV fixture is a Risk Group 3 UV product. UV radiation from the unit can damage the skin and eyes without proper protection. Operators should avoid exposure to the eyes and skin when the unit is unshielded (for use in enclosed environments only). In the event of lamp breakage, it is recommended to ventilate the room for 30 minutes and clean the area with gloves (not a vacuum cleaner). Contents should be stored in a sealed plastic bag and brought to a waste/recycling facility. Mounting/Wiring: The back of the IND-HB-48-4L-UVC-T8-V1 features a pair of mounting holes that can accomodate several different types of mounts. Mounting kits are sold separately. Note on Environment: Sunlight and visible light fixtures do not impact the effectiveness of the disinfecting on this UVC sanitation product. Metal halide, high pressure sodium, fluorescent, and LED light fixtures can be left on. The UV radiation emitted from this product is not disrupted by any type of lighting in the environment. Put simply, NO it DOES NOT need to be dark in the area you plan to disinfect. The UV radiation is harmful to the eyes and skin, and that is why you should not be in the area while it is in operation.
