The Larson Electronics GVP-EMG-48-2L-LED-DNMS is similar to our popular explosion proof LED fixtures and provides an LED alternative to fluorescent fixtures that provides longer lamp life and higher performance. These 2 LED tube lamp fixtures produce more output with longer lamp life and are vapor proof and impact/ vibration resistant. A sensor with day/night and motion sensing features is available for automated operation. Please note that this unit is vapor proof and not approved for use in hazardous locations.
The GVP-EMG-48-2L-LED-DNMS is equipped with two specially designed LED T8-series bulbs which produce 3,500 lumens each and have a correlated color temperature of 5,600K. The GVP-EMG-48-2L-LED-DNMS, four foot long, two-lamp LED light fixture is designed for those who wish to replace or upgrade from fluorescent equipped fixtures and offers better light output and longer lamp life with reduced maintenance costs. With no ballast and solid state LED light tubes, this fixture draws less than 0.5 amps of power while offering durability and versatility that common fluorescent fixtures cannot match.
The 24 watt LED lamps produce more illumination than standard fluorescent T8 bulbs. The GVP-EMG-48-2L-LED-DNMS is multi-voltage and operates on any voltage from 110V to 277V AC 50/60hz. We also offer this vapor proof fixture in a low voltage 12-24V DC configuration. Integral aluminum heat sink tube backings provide cool operation and long LED life, while a simple latching system seals the lens cover to the housing and provides easy access for re-lamping.
Sensor Technology:
The LED lamp is equipped with an innovative and powerful day/night + motion sensor. This sensor, which is located inside the light fixture itself, allows the unit to operate in one of several different and versatile modes. The LED light fixture can be set to be motion activated, day/night activated or in a combination of motion sensing and day/night modes. This high-tech sensor is also highly adjustable and allows operators to modify the following settings: motion sensor sensitivity, motion sensor time-delay and the intensity output level of the fixture. Having this degree of flexibility in operation and settings offers operators an incredibly versatile light fixture.
Sensor Versatility:
The impressive versatility of the motion + day/night sensor found in the GVP-EMG-48-2L-LED-DNMS allows for a lot of creativity during setup. However, versatility is further increased when multiple units are to be installed together such as in a parking garage or other similar structure. Operators can take advantage of the sensor versatility to set up an energy efficient and automated lighting system. Take a parking garage for example. Operators would be able to set up a sequence of GVP-EMG-48-2L-LED-DNMS fixtures with alternating lights on seperate circuits. The first circuit would have sensors set to a lower lux level than the fixtures on the second circuit. This hypothetical setup would allow half the lights to come on as daylight began to fade and the rest of the lights would only come on once complete darkness had fallen. The fixtures could then be adjusted for motion sensing which would allow selected fixtures to power on when pedestrian or vehicle movement was detected and then turn off after an operator chosen interval to conserve energy. This is just one example of the flexibility and versatility that can be achieved with the GVP-EMG-48-2L-LED-DNMS.
Emergency Backup:
This emergency LED light works, mounts and is wired like our GVP-48-2L-LED vapor proof LED light fixtures. The main difference is that we add a battery backup unit that adds emergency light functionality to the fixture. This emergency battery backup will run one bulb at the standard UL suggested 90 minutes after power is lost at 3,500 lumens. The light recharges the battery once electrical power is restored. Standard configuration includes a single emergency battery backup that is automatically recharged and kept in a ready state. The battery backup unit includes a switched leg for turning the light fixture on/off without kicking the unit into emergency mode.
LED Benefits:
Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life.
LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient.
