' Product Overview '
Made in Texas The EPSLED-80-SOL-80C-C1D2-20C-PA-MOD1 Solar Powered Explosion Proof LED Strobe Light with Horn from Larson Electronics is a reliable solution for remote areas and standalone applications where connection to external power is either impractical or unavailable. The 7-watt strobe lamp offers 360 degrees of illumination and is protected by a cage guard. Audible alerts are provided by a powerful explosion proof horn with 8 user selectable field tones. Charged by a Class I, Division 2 solar panel, four 12V AC 18aH sealed lead acid batteries provide constant, reliable power to the LED strobe light and industrial horn. The EPSLED-80-SOL-80C-C1D2-20C-PA-MOD1 is a sustainable solution for hazardous locations and remote sites. This explosion proof system operates on 24V DC and features a strobing flash lighting configuration, at a rate of 4 strobe counts per second. Charged by the Class I, Division 2 rated solar panel, four 12V AC 18aH sealed lead acid batteries provide constant, reliable power. For audible notification, the explosion proof horn provides operators in hazardous locations with an effective and powerful alert/signal system that can withstand demanding conditions and be heard over the operation of industrial machinery. This unit includes 8 different tones which can reach peak output of 110dBA. Tones:   Selectable by switch on sound module 1) Continuously running train of eight sounds in sequence 2) Wail - conventional siren 3) Yelp - rapid siren 4) Two- tone 5) Whoop - ascending low to high 6) Yeow - descending high to low 7) Horn - Steady 8) Beep - slow intermittent horn 9) Stutter - rapid intermittent horn 0) Remote-Enables remote selection of:                                                                                                             7 - Horn                    4 - Two tone - alternating                    3 - Yelp - rapid siren                    1 - Wail - manual siren The batteries, 24V Class I, Division 2 charge controller and battery disconnect are contained within a NEMA 4X remote enclosure and must be installed within a Class I, Division 2 environment. A 20` photovoltaic cable between the enclosure and system allows for easy mounting of the panel and control box. The explosion proof system can be setup with existing customer-provided controls, switches, sensors or systems. In this configuration, the explosion proof strobe light and horn are activated by a 24V signal from connected customer controls. The unit will automatically deactivate the strobe light and horn when the 24V signal is turned off or cut. Alternatively, individuals may operate the explosion proof system using a remote on/off switch. The solar-powered LED strobe light is constructed of cast aluminum with a polyester powder coated finish. The IP67-rated unit comes with a T3C temperature rating. Designed for extreme work sites, the LED strobe lamp is UL tested to withstand 1,490 lbs. The explosion proof horn is constructed of heavy duty aluminum and the horn is formed fiberglass. The entire unit is finished in durable grey powder coat for resistance to corrosion, is weatherproof/dustproof, and NEMA4x and marine rated for wet environments. LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life. LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. Solid state LED lighting is also safer for the environment as LEDs are 100% recyclable. And recycling simultaneously reduces operating costs by eliminating the need for the expensive special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps. Power/Wiring: This EPSLED-80-SOL-80C-C1D2-20C-PA-MOD1 is powered by four 12V AC 18aH sealed lead acid batteries that are recharged by the solar panel. These rechargeable batteries provide a continuous supply of steady, reliable power. The lead acid battery pack is contained within the solar panel, not the light. This fixture ships with 80 feet of 10/2 SOOW cord that connects the explosion proof strobe light and horn to the solar panel. Custom lengths are available upon request. Please contact us for special requirements. Charging time for the battery bank is 5 hours when exposed to direct sunlight. As with all solar powered equipment, charging time is affected by the amount of available ambient light. Indirect sunlight and low ambient light levels, such as on cloudy days, will extend the charge time. Mounting: The EPSLED-80-SOL-80C-C1D2-20C-PA-MOD1 features a pole mount for compatible surfaces. The explosion proof horn and strobe light are secured on a single backplate, which can be mounted on flat surfaces or walls. NOTE: Larson Electronics has further upgraded the options available with this light. We expect the light to be mounted separately from the panel. This means the solar panel can be mounted in direct sunlight (not in the hazardous area) while the light is mounted in a hazardous area workspace. Standard installation for explosion proof lighting, including threaded rigid pipe to the LED light fixture and appropriate seal-offs, etc. are required. Suggested Applications: Paint spray booths, aircraft maintenance, oil drilling rigs, refineries, solvent and cleaning areas, gas processing plants, chemical manufacturing, waste treatment plants, remote locations and more.
