The EXP-EMG-EXT-3L-6.5W-LED Explosion Proof LED Bug Eyes w/ Exit Sign from Larson Electronics is an ideal emergency lighting solution for hazardous locations where failsafe lighting is required. Equipped with two LED spot lights and a single-face exit sign, the unit operates on 120-277V AC, 60Hz. The NEMA 4X explosion proof system features up to 180 mins (3 hours) of battery-powered emergency operation. The EXP-EMG-EXT-3L-6.5W-LED is an ideal solution for operators who wish to ensure their hazardous workspaces utilize the most effective and reliable safety lighting options available. Under normal conditions, this emergency lamp uses normal external power to illuminate its two, 4.83-watt LED lamps. The dual LED spot lights offer a total of 841.56 lumens, with a color temperature rating of 5672K. In the case of power outages or in any situation where power is interrupted, this unit automatically switches to a battery backup which will power the unit for 180 minutes (3 hours) or until power is restored. Once power is restored a built in charger will return the unit to a fully charged state within acceptable UL time limits. This emergency exit light is multi-voltage capable and can operate with voltages ranging from 120-277V@ 60Hz. This unit's housing is constructed of A360 copper-free aluminum with a baked-on gray epoxy finish for durability. The sign is made of acrylic and hardware components are stainless steel. The EXP-EMG-EXT-3L-6.5W-LED can withstand temperature variances ranging from 10° to 45°C. An integrated pilot light indicates the presence of AC current and a test switch allows easy confirmation of proper emergency operation. The single-face, edge-lit sign features red lettering with the word "EXIT". This explosion proof lighting solution carries NEMA 4X and IP65 ratings. Suitable for wet locations, the unit is designed for Class I, Division 1; Class I, Zone 1; Class II, Division 1 and Class III combustible sites. Emergency Battery Backup: This explosion proof emergency exit lighting fixture carries an integral sealed, Nickel-Cadmium battery backup power supply. When external power is cut due to outages or accidents this lamp automatically switches to its battery backup which will power the LED bulbs for 180 minutes. The battery is protected from deep discharge by solid state circuitry which senses low voltage and turns off the unit before battery damage can occur. LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life. Hubs: The explosion proof LED system contains a total of three, 1" NPT hubs. One, 1" NPT hub can be found on the left and right side (total of two hubs). One, 1" NPT hub is located at the top center of the unit. Mounting: The EXP-EMG-EXT-3L-6.5W-LED is compatible with wall or surface mounting applications, which is facilitated by a mounting bracket with two openings.
