The Larson Electronics SPLEDXL-P10W80X2ET-4X250AH Solar Powered LED Light is an ideal lighting solution for remote areas and standalone applications where connection to external power is either impractical or unavailable. This rechargeable solar powered LED light is offered in a spotlight or floodlight beam pattern and several different operating configurations, making it ideal for remote applications. For robust illumination, the unit uses a high intensity LED lamp, capable of producing 6,880 lumens of white light.
This solar powered LED light is offered in several different configurations and powered by four, 250aH sealed lead acid 12V batteries that are recharged by a 265 watt solar panel. Light output comes from one, 80-watt LED lamp producing 6,880 lumens during use. This solar-powered lighting system is configured to operate non-stop 24/7, day/night with photocell, motion sensor for security purposes, on/off switch for manual operation or flying leads for operators to connect to user provided external switches. The day/night and motion sensor is programmed to activate the solar panel in the evening and to shut it off during the day, activating the LED light when ambient lighting falls below 1 lux. The motion sensor will activate the panel upon detecting movement within range of the panel.
The sealed lead acid battery pack is contained within the solar panel, not the light. Charging time for the battery is 5 hours when exposed to direct sunlight. As with all solar powered equipment, charging time is affected by the amount of available ambient light. When ambient light levels drop below a certain level, such as on cloudy days, the unit will not recharge. Mounting options include the ability to attach the fixture to flat surfaces such as walls or round/square pole mounting such as on flagpoles or structure supports.

PWM Control:
The pulse width modulation drivers in this unit also provide secondary benefits through the ability to tap into a provided input wire with an external pulse generator and adjust the duty cycle of the current being applied to the LEDs. Thus you can connect an external dimmer, switch or pulse control and adjust the perceived output of the light, effectively causing the light to flash, dim or brighten to the desired levels. Additionally, this method of controlling light output results in a corresponding drop in amperage draw, so if the duty cycle is cut back to 50% there will be a matching 50% reduction in amperage draw. These units are also able to monitor and adjust input current to maintain the correct LED voltage levels regardless of input levels across a specific range. These LEDP10W series light bars can operate on current ranging from 9 to 46VDC without any modifications necessary as a result. This ability to sense and adjust input current also provides protection against voltage spikes and drops that can occur in vehicle electrical systems which would otherwise result in burning up or premature LED failure without it.

Wiring:
The SPLEDXL-P10W80X2ET-4X250AH comes with a 20-foot cord connecting the solar panel and the batteries and another 20-foot cord connecting the light and the batteries. This allows the light to be mounted separately from the panel. This means the solar panel can be mounted in direct sunlight while the light is mounted in a workspace. The cord between the light and panel ends in Deutsch connectors, allowing an optional longer extension cord to be attached, increasing the distance the light can be installed from the panel. Optional longer extension cords are available at additional cost. Alternatively, the light can be mounted directly to the panel. Larson Electronics can also configure this light for special requirements including different lights and larger batteries.
