' Product Overview '
Made in the USA The Larson Electronics ATEX-EXP-BCHR-230-25A-RCH-SW-ID-M1 Explosion Proof Battery Charger is designed for battery repair, charging, restoration and maintenance in ATEX / IEC Ex environments. The NEMA 4X-rated unit accepts 230 V AC input and provides 12 V DC or 24 V DC output. Constructed of cast aluminum, operators can access terminal strips for completing connections to a 230 V power source (input) and a customer-provided battery (output). The ATEX-EXP-BCHR-230-25A-RCH-SW-ID-M1 is a compact, explosion proof battery charger for combustible environments and work sites. This unit offers 230 V AC input voltage. Low voltage of 12 V DC or 24 V DC is provided on the output side (max charging amps: 25 A; max starting/boost amps: 200 A). The explosion proof charger is compatible with the following types of batteries: wet cell (flooded), gel cell, calcium, lithium, AGM, enhanced flooded battery and maintenance-free batteries. Suitable for battery repair or recovery, this unit is designed for batteries up to 230 aH (115 aH for 24 V). This unit has a 3-way switch designed to set the unit in the three operation modes (off / slow charge / starting charge). A green indicator light allows operators to know when the battery is charged on the slow charge setting. During operation, the explosion proof charger uses high-frequency switch mode technology for optimized AC to DC conversion. This unit has (2) 3/4" NPT hubs and (2) 1" NPT hubs. The hubs are located in the following locations: (1) 3/4" NPT @ North Side, (1) 3/4" NPT @ South Side, (1) 1" NPT @ North Side, (1) 1" NPT @ South Side. The ATEX-EXP-BCHR-230-25A-RCH-SW-ID-M1 also ships with (2) 3/4" and (2) 1" NPT recessed conduit plugs. The NEMA 4X-rated device is constructed of cast aluminum, with stainless steel hinges and bolts. Wiring/Mounting: The ATEX-EXP-BCHR-230-25A-RCH-SW-ID-M1 contains terminal strips for connecting 230V to the explosion proof charger (input). On the output side, four terminal strip connections are available for connecting customer-provided batteries. Two, 3/4" NPT hubs and two, 1" NPT hubs are accessible for completing connections to the explosion proof device. Operators can mount the battery charger on flat surfaces and walls via four openings at each corner of the explosion proof enclosure. Applications: Battery charging, battery maintenance and repair, combustible work sites, flammable environments, cars, standby/emergency generators, power management, generators, pumps, field engineering, automated systems, engine battery charging and more.
