| The Larson Electronics DCPS-4-24V Weatherproof Power Supply converts commonly used 120-240V AC electrical current to 24V DC @5 Amps. This converter is designed to be hardwired into home, boat or vehicle electrical supplies where the voltage is typically within the 90-264VAC range and reduces it to 24VDC, allowing users to operate equipment like our LED and lights that require 24 Volt DC current from standard AC power. The DCPS-4-24V 96 watt power converter provides a safe and effective way for users to tap into and utilize 90-264 Volt AC power sources and convert this current to 24 Volts DC for use with equipment that requires 24 volt electrical power. This unit can be operated with input current ranging from 90 to 264 VAC and will output 24 Volt DC current at a maximum of 4 amps. This power converter features an IP66 rated waterproof design, making it suitable for indoor or outdoor use and includes integral short circuit and overload protection that will shut down the unit in case of faults and overloads to protect the unit and connected equipment from damage. This converter comes with clearly labeled input and output leads that are approximately six inches long and stripped and tinned for hardwired connections using butt splice connectors, wire screws, plates, etc. The small size and wide input voltage range of this unit make it ideal for operating Larson Electronics LED light bars and other equipment that requires 24VDC current indoors and anywhere 24 volt DC power is not readily available. Measuring 12.32 inches long by 2 inches wide by 2 inches deep, this unit weighs one pound and is mounted with two conventional #6 screws per side via slots that allow removal and repositioning simply by loosening the screws. The DCPS-4-24V 96 watt converter features full range, universal AC input capability and can be operated with 90 to 264VAC. The unit converts this AC power input up to 96 watt, 4 Amp 24VDC input. IP66 rated, this unit is waterproof and suitable for indoor or outdoor applications. Integrally designed protection includes overload, short circuit and over voltage safeguards to prevent overheating and unit damage in case of faults or overly heavy current draw. This unit will shut down when an over current fault is encountered and automatically resume operation once the fault is repaired or removed. When an over voltage condition is encountered the unit will shut down and recovers when manually turned back on. This power converter has a -30°C to +70°C operating temperature range and is CE Certified, UL 1310, Class 2, and UL 48 rated. This unit has an 85% conversion efficiency and is suitable for use with moving LED signs and similar LED equipment. NOTE: In order to obtain the best performance and the longest operational life from these units, it is recommended that you do not exceed 75% of the unit’s output amperage. To determine if this converter suits your desired application, add together the total wattage of the equipment you intend to use with this unit and divide this total by 24 volts to find the total amperage draw that will be placed upon the converter. For example, if you are using our LEDLB-32E 96 watt LED light, 96 watts divided by 24 volts is 4 amps. This would mean the DCPS-4-24V is not suitable as it would run at 100% capacity to produce the necessary 4 amps and run hotter, leading to reduced converter life. Thus, a higher rated converter like our would be a better choice. |
