The Larson Electronics EPL-H-175MH-BALL is a 175W Metal Halide Ballast Package that operates on 120-277V AC @ 60 Hz on a SUPER-CWA circuit with a power factor of 90%. This metal halide ballast has a nominal open circuit voltage of 285 and a minimum ambient operating temperature of -30°C.
This metal halide ballast package is rated at 1.78 operating amps on standard 120V, 2 amps as an open circuit and 0.5 amps starting, and has a recommended fuse of 5 amps on 120V, 3 amps on 208V and 240V, and 2 amps on 277V. The input voltage is 65 @ 10V, 115 @ 208V, 137 @ 240V and 155 @ 277V at lamp dropout, with 198 input watts. Line volts and lamp watss are both ±10%.
The capacitor requires 11 microfarands and a minimum of 370 volts. The High Potential Test under 60 Hz Test Procedures yeilded 2000 volts for 1 minute and 2500 volts for 2 seconds. The Open Circuit Test yeilded 250-300 volts, while the Short-Circuit Current Test yeilded 1.6-1.96 amps on the secondary current. The input current yeilds 0.4-0.6 on 120V, 0.23-0.34 on 208V, 0.17-0.26 on 240V and 0.16-0.25 on 277V.
This metal halide ballast package has a ballast to lamp distance of 2 feet and a capacitor/ignitor temperature rating of 105°C. This capacitor measures 3.75" tall by 1.65 inches in diameter. The 3 x 4 core, 2-coil unit measures 5.10 inches wide by 4.41 inches long
