The Larson Electronics EPL-HHB-150W-LED 50 Watt Explosion Proof Light is approved Class I Divisions 1 & 2, Class II Divisions 1 & 2, and Class III. This LED explosion proof LED light is designed for installation in locations where flammable gases, vapors and liquids, combustible dusts, and/or ignitable fibers and flyings exist or have the potential to exist as well as NEMA 3, 4, 4X location where wind, water, snow/ice, or high ambients can be expected. Weatherproof and listed for marine use, this explosion proof LED fixture is the ideal choice for range of industrial and marine applications including those requiring installation in enclosed spaces. The multipurpose floodlight design of this fixture makes it a popular choice for a range of applications regardless of whether the locations are designated hazardous or not.

The EPL-HHB-150W-LED hazardous area light is the perfect upgrade replacement for traditional 150 watt metal halide and 150 watt high pressure sodium lamps. Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation. Instead of using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied. With LED lighting technology, there is no warm up time or cool down time before re-striking. Rather, LEDs provide instant illumination when powered on, making them more dependable and convenient than halide or high pressure sodium lighting methods.
In addition to being weatherproof and suitable for extreme temperatures, the EPL-HHB-150W-LED light delivers a powerful 5,735 lumens and high chromaticity for excellent color rendering while drawing only 50 watts. Designed with versatility in mind, this explosion proof hazardous area light runs on 120-277V AC 50/60Hz with the option of 347/480V AC 50/60 Hz.
By nature, LED light sources run significantly cooler than metal halide lamps, reducing the chance of accidental burns and increased temperatures due to heat emissions. This solid state design of light emitting diodes provides a more reliable, stable, durable, and energy efficient light source over traditional halide lighting. This internal driver provides the ability to automatically monitor and adjust input current to maintain the correct LED voltage levels regardless of input levels across a specific range. This not only reduces the energy dissipation, effectively lowering the operating temperature of the fixture, but also prevents AC over-voltage and short circuit loading making this fixture virtually maintenance free. Because the electronic driver allows the EPL-HHB-150W-LED to run at a cooler internal temperature and regulates the electrical current, energy efficiency and LED service hours are maximized while at the same time reducing operating costs and downtime incurred from the frequent servicing intervals required with other hotter running lights. As a result, the Larson Electronics Explosion Proof Light has a rated service life of 50,000 hours.
The EPL-HHB-150W-LED explosion proof hazardous area lamp is housed within a lightweight, high strength copper-free aluminum body. Protecting the LED lamp is a thermal shock resistant glass globe set within a cage-style lamp guard. The housing and guard have been finished with an epoxy powder, and all exposed hardware is constructed of stainless steel for added corrosion prevention and durability. The LED assembly is connected with a solderless board connection for increased vibration resistance.
The Larson Electronics EPL-HHB-150W-LED is offered in wall, ceiling, pendant or stanchion mount. Wiring is through a convenient 3/4" NPT conduit entrance (1-1/2" for stanchion mount), and a simple hinge arrangement makes for faster and easier installation by permitting "hands-free" wiring.

|Operation cost per year
(12hs/day @ 12c/kWh)
|Each LED light fixture has the potential to save $18+ per year in electricity alone, not including maintenance costs, operational downtime, reduced productivity, HVAC loads, or carbon footprint. When retrofitting an entire facility with 100s of light fixtures, the return on investment of LED over metal halide becomes evident.
