The EPL-HMJ-100W-LED hazardous area light is the perfect upgrade replacement for traditional 70 watt metal halide lamps and 100 watt metal halide lamps. In addition to being weatherproof and suitable for extreme temperatures, the EPL-HMJ-100W-LED light delivers a powerful 2,250 lumens and high chromaticity for excellent color rendering while drawing only 36 watts. Designed with versatility in mind, this explosion proof hazardous area light runs on 120-277V AC 50/60Hz.
LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life.
LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps.
The solid state design of the light emitting diodes in the EPL-HMJ-100W-LED provides a more reliable, stable, durable, and energy efficient light source over traditional halide lighting. An internal driver provides the ability to automatically monitor and adjust input current to maintain the correct LED voltage levels regardless of input levels across a specific range. This not only reduces the energy dissipation, effectively lowering the operating temperature of the fixture, but also prevents AC over-voltage and short circuit loading making this fixture virtually maintenance free. Because the electronic driver allows the EPL-HMJ-100W-LED to run at a cooler internal temperature and regulates the electrical current, energy efficiency and LED service hours are maximized while at the same time reducing operating costs and downtime incurred from the frequent servicing intervals required with other hotter running lights. As a result, the EPL-HMJ-100W-LED from Larson Electronics has a rated service life of 50,000 hours.
The EPL-HMJ-100W-LED explosion proof hazardous area lamp is housed within a lightweight, high strength copper-free aluminum body. Protecting the LED lamp is a thermal chock resistant glass globe set within a cage-style lamp guard. The housing and guard have been finished with an epoxy powder, and all exposed hardware is constructed of stainless steel for added corrosion prevention and durability. The LED assembly is connected with a solderless board connection for increased vibration resistants.
The Larson Electronics EPL-HMJ-100W-LED is offered in wall, ceiling, pendant, 25° stanchion or bulkhead mount. Wiring is through a convenient 3/4" NPT conduit entrance (1-1/4" for stanchion mount), and a simple hinge arrangement makes for faster and easier installation by permitting "hands-free" wiring.
