The Larson Electronics EPL-LP-70W-LED-B-HDBC Low Profile LED light fixture provides operators with a powerful and energy efficient alternative to traditional hazardous location luminaries. LED technology and compact design makes this lamp an excellent replacement upgrade option for bulky and high maintenance cost older fixtures. A newly designed mount offers a secure method of attaching the fixture to any I-beam up to 10". With Group B certification, this explosion proof LED light fixture is approved for use within hazardous environments that contain or main contain hydrogen.
This Class 1 Division 1 & 2, Class 2 Division 1 & 2 explosion proof light fixture provides 6,000 lumens of high quality light while drawing only 70 watts. It is available in 360° and 180° beam spreads. The copper free aluminum alloy body is powder coated for added durability and an attractive aesthetic appearance. A special heat dissipating design in conjunction with advanced LED driver technology helps this fixture achieve an excellent 100,000 hour rated lifespan with 70% lumen retention. Light weight and a low profile make this unit an attractive alternative to larger and heavier older fixtures and requires less hardware to install. Operators will be able to mount the light fixture to I-beams via two adjustable screw handles.
LED Drivers: Even in LED fixtures, heat is the single largest factor in premature light failure and color shifting. As a result, many manufacturers reduce the output of their LEDs in order to reduce the amount of heat produced. Rather than lower light output or quality, Larson Electronics addresses this problem with the addition of an electronic LED driver. This internal driver provides the ability to automatically monitor and adjust input current to maintain the correct LED voltage levels regardless of input levels across a specific range. This not only reduces the energy dissipation, effectively lowering the operating temperature of the fixture, but also prevents AC over-voltage and short circuit loading making this fixture virtually maintenance free. Because the electronic driver allows the EPL-LP-70W-LED-B-HDBC to run at a cooler internal temperature and regulates the electrical current, energy efficiency and LED service hours are maximized while at the same time reducing operating costs and downtime incurred from the frequent servicing intervals required with other hotter running lights.
LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current applied and emitting light. With LED lights, there is no warm up time or cool down time before re-striking and provide instant illumination when powered on, adding to the reliability of LED technology. This light is universal voltage and can be operated on 100-277 VAC, 50/60Hz without any need for a ballast or transformer. The aluminum body and LED lamp assembly gives this light excellent durability and resistance to vibration and impacts. The housing is specially designed to dissipate heat, which increases the efficiency and lifespan of the LED emitters. This high output LED lamp produces 6,000 lumens with a color temperature of 5000K and a color rendering index of 70, which means this lamp render colors and details much more accurately than high pressure sodium or mercury vapor luminaries. The EPL-LP-70W-LED-B-HDBC is designed with a mounting bracket that fits onto I-beams up to 10".
Note On Beam Spread: The 360° beam spread is the standard directional output and typical for flood lights. The 180° shines in only one direction. This is good for down lighting, wall packs and for not blinding oncoming traffic or pedestrians.
Mounting Options: A custom designed I-beam mounting bracket allows for easy attachment of the fixture to any I-beams (up to 10") commonly found in construction sites and civil engineering projects. The component€™s ability to resist bending ensures stable lighting performance in rough environments. During installation, the mounting bracket slides over the beam€™s horizontal flanges. After securing the preferred position on the I-beam, the operator can then tighten the fixture to the beam using the two adjustable handles. It is important to tighten both handles evenly and securely to prevent shaking or uneven positioning. Operators may reposition the light on the beam by loosening the handles, moving the unit to the desired location and tightening the handles.
