This quadpod mounted LED light fixture provides operators with excellent power and efficiency coupled with high versatility and ease of use. *PLEASE NOTE: ANY FREE SHIPPING OFFERS DO NOT APPLY TO LIGHT MASTS, LIGHT TOWERS, OR QUADPODS* This explosion proof LED light is mounted on our non-sparking aluminum collapsible quadpod which gives operators an easily deployable source of powerful light that can be quickly setup and adjusted to effectively illuminate hazardous work areas and then easily stowed and transported between uses. This unit contains a 70 watt LED lamp and is capable of illuminating 7,000 square feet of work space with 6,020 lumens of light. The 70 watt LED lamp produces illumination equivalent to a typical 400 watt halogen bulb while drawing only 70 watts at 5.84 amps on 12 volts. The LED lamp runs cooler than a 400 watt halogen, resulting in an easier to handle unit and less heat in the workspace. The EPL-QP-BS70LED-LV-100 explosion proof LED quadpod provides 6,020 lumens of light output in a portable and rugged explosion proof lighting package. The 70 watt LED lamp assembly in this unit produces higher quality illumination with better color rendering and contrasting than typical 400 watt halogen lamps while drawing only 70 watts at 5.84 amps on 12 volts. The LED lamp runs cooler than 400 watt halogen lamps, resulting in an easier and safer to handle unit and less heat in the workspace. The LED lamp in this unit produces a brilliant 40 degree flood pattern of light that is ideal for high vibration environments and general illumination in any confined space area (silo, tank or manhole). The EPL-QP-BS70LED-LV-100 operates on 9-32 volts DC to provide a low voltage lighting solution for areas where low voltage operation is preferable. LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life. LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps. Durability: This unit incorporates a 70 watt LED lamp assembly containing seven CREE XLamp MC-E® ten watt LEDs producing 860 lumens each, and a copper-free cast aluminum housing with a thermoset powder coat finish. The shell, covers and sealed fittings are also made of copper-free aluminum. The lens is constructed of 3/4" thermal shock and impact resistant tempered glass and the housing contains threaded joints lubricated with non-drying lubricant. The LED lamp assembly has no filament and is thus highly resistant to damage from shocks or impacts, greatly reducing the chances of damage should the lamp be dropped or hit, unlike incandescent lamps which may break or shatter. The lamp is rated at 50,000+ hours of life, providing longer service life than typical halogen lamps.

Heat Management: Heat is the single largest factor in premature LED failure and color shifting. These LED units contain advanced drivers which use pulse width modulation to control heat buildup rather than simple voltage regulators which are typically harsh on sensitive electronics and can contribute to early LED failure. These units automatically sense the temperature of each LED and adjust the energy frequency or "duty cycle" accordingly to maintain heat levels within acceptable ranges. This system in essence flashes current at an extremely fast on and off rate to each LED based upon the LED`s core temperature. This flash rate is too fast to detect with the human eye, but provides precise control of the current flowing to each LED and thus the heat it generates. This allows the LEDs to be driven at up to 100% capacity without overheating or visible loss of light output. The LEDs are always driven at the same voltage but the duty cycle, however, is changed to alter how long the LEDs are actually on or off. The end result is more light with less heat and longer LED life with an average 70% lumen maintenance after 50,000 hours. The non sparking collapsible quadpod weighs only 17 pounds and can be extended to twelve feet and collapsed to 7 feet and includes solid wheels that allow the operator to tilt the unit back and simply roll the entire assembly to a new location when fully deployed. The main mast is 2 inch square aluminum, and the legs are 1.5 inch square aluminum with foot pads that automatically extend into place when the legs are unfolded. Both the shaft and the legs are completely collapsible, making it ideal for applications where portability is ideal. The quadpod can be easily detached from the light aiding in deployment, storage and transport. The quadpod affords operators the ability to quickly and securely elevate this lamp, increasing its effective coverage of the work area. The lamp can be easily adjusted up, down or from side to side and locked into position. Suggested Applications: Include but are not limited to wastewater treatment plants, refinery tanks, oil and gasoline loading docks, coal pulverizing facilities, munitions storage areas, tunnel projects, utility gas plants, power plant areas, hazardous areas and mining conveyor belts.
