Made in the USA The EPL-WS-18X60-2X15W-LED-R1-1227 Explosion Proof Illuminated Windsock from Larson Electronics offers reliable wind measurements and monitoring in Class I, II and III rated locations. This system features two explosion proof LED lights and an 18"OD x 60"L windsock. Compatible with pole mounting applications, operators may access a 3/4" junction box for wiring and power connections. The EPL-WS-18X60-2X15W-LED-R1-1227 is ideal for outdoor and industrial applications, hazardous work spaces and areas where gases, vapors and dust may be present. Equipped with two explosion proof LED lights, the windsock measures 18"OD x 60"L and comes in the following color options: orange or alternating orange/white. One 15-watt red, steady burn LED light is available at the top of the assembly. A 15-watt white, steady burn LED light illuminates the windsock from the inside. The lamp housing is waterproof, constructed of heavy cast aluminum, and tested to withstand 1,490 lbs. per square inch of hydrostatic pressure. A durable polyester powder coating ensures durability in outdoor environments. The hazardous area LED lights are rated for use in Class I, Groups C and D, Class II, Groups E and F and Class III sites. These lights are IP67 rated waterproof and suitable for use in areas where flammable gases, vapors and chemicals may be encountered, as well as approved for exposure to combustible dust. The LED lamps offer exceptional power efficiency over traditional incandescent lamps, a 50,000+ hour lifespan and is energized by leads which pass through a sealing compound that separates the lamp chamber from the wiring compartment. LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life. LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps. Voltage/Wiring: This system is universal voltage capable and can be operated with 120-277V AC, 50/60 Hz without modifications. Wiring is fed through a junction box with 3/4" hubs and tied with the fixture€™s lead wires, completing the electrical connection. Mounting: The EPL-WS-18X60-2X15W-LED-R1-1227 is compatible with pole mounting installations. The assembly bolts onto existing poles in outdoor locations.
