The EXP-EMG-EXT-LE6-1L Explosion Proof LED Exit Sign with emergency battery back up from Larson Electronics is Class I, Divisions 1 & 2, Groups B, C, D, Class I, Zones 1 & 2, Groups IIB+H2, IIA, Class II, Divisions 1 & 2, Groups E, F, G and Class III Divisions 1 & 2 rated for hazardous areas. Equipped with a 1.1 watt LED lamp, a 3 hour runtime and self diagnostic system, this failsafe exit sign helps show workers within hazardous environments where the exit is during power failures. This single sided exit sign is an ideal emergency exit marking solution for hazardous locations where failsafe reliability is a must.
The EXP-EMG-EXT-LE6-1L is an effective option for operators who wish to ensure their hazardous workspaces employ the most up to date and reliable means of marking emergency exit-ways available. Under normal conditions this emergency exit lamp uses normal external power to illuminate its 1 watt LED array. In the case of power outages or in any situation where power is interrupted, this unit automatically switches to a battery backup which will power the unit for three hours or until power is restored. This fixture has three mounting options and is multi-voltage capable.
Light Features: The EXP-EMG-EXT-LE6-1L features a backlit LED array that each contain eight LEDs, drawing a total of 1.1 watts. This explosion proof emergency LED fixture features brown-out, short circuit and voltage surge protection and has a low voltage disconnect which prevents damage to the battery caused by a deep discharge. This self-testing LED fixture will run for a minimum of 3 hours after a power failure thanks to the maintenance-free 3.6 volt NiCad battery. After emergency use, the battery takes 24 hours to completely recharge.

This emergency exit marking fixture is explosion proof and carries an integral battery backup power supply. When external power is cut due to outages or accidents this lamp automatically switches to its battery backup which will power the lamp for three hours, longer than the requirements specified in the NFPA 101. The EXP-EMG-EXT-LE6-1L sign panel is back illuminated by LEDs and as a result draws only 1.1 watt of power and has an extreme LED luminary lifespan rated at 15 years. This fixture is approved for outdoor use and is resistant to saltwater making it suitable for use in marine environments.
Emergency Operation: The EXP-EMG-EXT-LE6-1L features a backup battery that will run the fixture for at least 90 minutes following a power outage or any other loss of power. The included emergency backup battery is a 3.6 volt NiCad rechargeable unit. These batteries are maintenance-free and have a life expectancy of 15 years while being able to operate in a wide variety of conditions including in temperatures ranging from 0°C to +40°C. This unit also features a low voltage disconnect. This means that if the fixture detects that the battery`s terminal voltage has fallen below a certain level, the low voltage circuit will disconnect the emergency lighting load until normal power is restored. This prevents the battery from experiencing a deep discharge and becoming damaged.
Wiring: The EXP-EMG-EXT-LE6-1L explosion proof emergency self-testing LED fixture is NOT a factory sealed fixture. Operators will bring their own wiring to a junction box and complete their connects. The operator will also provide their own seal off for this fixture. The EXP-EMG-EXT-LE6-1L operates on 120/277V AC at 60Hz.
Mounting: The EXP-EMG-2L-LE6 is designed to be surface mounted to flat surfaces such as walls. The unions connecting the upper lamps to the lower indicator light enclosure allow for both horizontal and vertical adjustment. This gives operators the ability to adjust the light to their specific mounting location for ideal light coverage during a power failure or power outage.
Suggested Applications: The EXP-EMG-2L-LE6 is designed to for use within hazardous environments to mark the exit-ways of rooms and buildings.

Return & Refund Policy
For All non-Larson Products If you are not satisfied with a product, contact us by emailing or call 1-844-787-LITE within 30 days of receipt. A refund may be arranged excluding freight charges upon inspection. Returned merchandise must be shipped in original packaging, freight prepaid, unused, and in resalable condition, and are subject to 25% restocking fee. PuriLite inspects all returns and reserves the right to refuse credits on damaged, used or non-resalable items. Your only obligation is the freight charge and restocking fee, provided your return is complete with original packaging, all documentation, warranty cards, cables etc. PuriLite reserves the right to authorize product returns after 30 days have passed from the order date. If the product is accepted after this period, it is subject to a 25% restocking fee and credit will be issued toward future purchases only.
Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable for all returns. The customer may also be responsible for return shipping charges, insurance and shipment tracking for returned merchandise.
Once you place an order, the following products are non-returnable: custom-cut, customer built or special order items (such as matting, slings, cranes, prefab offices, buildings, mezzanines, assembled lockers and regularly stocked items such as generators, pressure washers, water and trash pumps, snow throwers, radio headsets, striping paint, line stripers, floor care machines, vacuums, custom fabric chairs, forklifts) your order is considered non-cancellable and any custom-cut, customer built or special order items purchased by you are also non-returnable. Consumable style bulbs or lamps are not returnable. There are no returns on any medical and/or sanitizing products for obvious safety reasons. This includes PPE (including masks), tests, thermometers, sprayers and UVC lighting of any kind (portable and surface).
Leased and hazardous items are also non-returnable. Contact customer service for a complete list of applicable products.
Larson product return policy Every order is tested prior to shipping. The product is tested before it is put into the shipping box, crate, pallet, etc. Larson take pictures and videos of every product for every order being shipped, and store these pictures and videos with the order number in our system. Because of the complexity of some of our products, we have a very limited return policy.
For safety reasons, we do not accept returns on any hazardous location, explosion proof or intrinsically safe products. Once these products leave the factory, we cannot be sure what happens to them. We must re-build and re-certify the units to specification to ensure that the next customer receives an item that is safe to use. This is cost prohibitive. For that reason, we do not accept returns on classified products. We do not accept returns on transformers, phase converters, or frequency converters. In order to install one of the aforementioned products, typically customers will modify the product (i.e. penetrate the housing to make connections, punch out knockouts, remove or damage tinning on lead wires during installation). Because we video test every unit before it ships to ensure the unit operates as described, we know when they leave here the units are operationally functional and meet the output voltage when supplied with the input voltage per the product specification. To be clear, we do not accept returns on these items under any circumstances for these reasons.
Products that are not addressed in the above two conditions must be returned in new, unused condition.
Below are some additional considerations:
Electrical/electronic parts are easily damaged by improper installation or testing. Because electronics are very sensitive to voltage overloads, it does not take much of a voltage spike to ruin a component. Because of this risk, all electrical products returned will undergo electrical testing and assessed a testing fee. This fee will be subtracted from the final return value.
Consumable style bulbs or lamps are not returnable.
Products that contain emergency backup components are subject to very narrow warranty terms and do not qualify for return. For customer convenience, we engage the battery pack prior to shipping all emergency backup products. Many times, particularly with hazardous location rated products, the battery packs are difficult to access and the customer generally plans to install the units shortly after receipt of the shipment. Battery backup components using older technologies (Nicad, NIMH, SLA, etc) will fail quickly if they do not maintain valid grid tie support. In other words, the batteries must receive a consistent maintained charge to perpetuate long lifespans. Battery backup products that are shelved (not installed) for periods greater than 3 weeks will likely fail and need replacement sooner. This replacement will not be covered under warranty. This can also occur is the units are installed but the grid tie option is not connected correctly. Customers can specify that they do not want the battery pack to be engaged at the time of ordering if they plan to shelve the units for long periods of time prior to installation.
There are many products on the site and not all pictures depict the exact configuration of each product. Many products are custom built and/or built on demand. In some cases, products are designed and not sold immediately and rendering may be used. In all cases, the end product is built to the specification listed and the pictures shown may be close approximations. Pictures are more likely to be close approximations with more complex products, including transformers, power distribution systems, control systems, light tower systems and other highly customizable products. In no way does the approximation validate a potential return. We always build to the specification. If customers have questions, they should ask prior to purchase to clarify.
There are no returns on any medical and/or sanitizing products for obvious safety reasons. This includes PPE (including masks), tests, thermometers, sprayers and UVC lighting of any kind (portable and surface)
Many international orders, specialty orders and other complex build orders require prepayment in advance. This prepayment represents a commitment to the order. Cancelling the order will result in a deduction from the original amount paid if any refund is available, since an investment of time and money is typically required to acquire materials and prepare the order. While not all orders in this category require prepayment, cancellation fees may apply to other build orders as well. The percentage of the deduction is at Larson’s discretion but usually ranges from 30 to 50%.
