' Product Overview '
The EXP-GS-GPM-B from Larson Electronics is an Explosion Proof Hydrogen Gas Detector for Class I, Divisions 1 & 2 flammable environments and facilities that handle or process hydrogen. Equipped with a solid-state sensor, internal relays and a built-in warning alarm, this device operates on 85 V AC to 265 V AC, 50/60 Hz. The detector can be mounted on surfaces, walls, or ceilings using four 3/16" screws. The EXP-GS-GPM-B is a hydrogen gas detector for combustible sites and battery storage rooms. This device is compatible with 85 V to 265 V AC, 50/60 Hz and features an 80 dB warning alarm and a 4-second delay upon activation to minimize false readings. Equipped with a solid-state sensor, operators can test the unit via a push-to-test function. The hydrogen gas detector senses concentration levels at 1% and 2%. Notification is facilitated by LED status lights and an audible alarm. When the sensor is activated at 1% concentration, the yellow LED light will turn on along with a corresponding relay for activation of a remote, connected device, such as an external alarm or exhaust fan (both not included). At 2% concentration, the red LED light is turned on, along with the built-in warning alarm and corresponding relay (dual-relay model) for remote, connected devices. The sensor also detects decreasing hydrogen gas levels. The EXP-GS-GPM-B is Explosion Prevention Systems (NFPA 69, Chap 8) and NFPA 2 Hydrogen Technology Code compliant. This device is non-incendive and meets Class I, Divisions 1 & 2 NEC hazardous atmosphere codes. This detector has been calibrated at room temperature and humidity at sea level. Field calibration is not required. Wiring: The EXP-GS-GPM-B contains internal relays and terminal blocks for connections to a preferred single-phase AC power source and remote devices, such as an exhaust fan or external alarm (both not included). An 18G SJT 3-conductor PVC jacket cable for 120V AC electrical connections and 14G wiring for relay connections are recommended. The device`s relay dry contacts are rated at 10 amps/250V AC. Mounting: This hydrogen gas detector can be mounted on surfaces, walls, or ceilings using four 3/16" screws. For best results, it is recommended to install the unit at the highest, draft-free section of the room. Suggested Applications: Battery-charging rooms, paint spray booths, aircraft maintenance, oil drilling rigs, refineries, solvent and cleaning areas, gas processing plants, chemical manufacturing, waste water treatment plants, offshore applications, and more.
