This heavy-duty emergency light features two, LED lamp heads and a 8-hour battery backup system. Designed to operate on 120V AC or 277V AC, the fixture comes with a push-to-test switch for streamlined inspection and maintenance. The GAU-EMG-2X2W-8H can run for 8+ hours without installing remote heads. The GAU-EMG-2X2W-8H offers illuminative support during emergencies and abnormal conditions. This 2-watt unit consists of adjustable, dual 1W LED light heads and operates on 120V AC or 277V AC. During operation, the LED lamps emit 240 lumens of white light in a flood beam configuration. The LED fixture features a battery backup system for continuous operation during emergencies. A sealed 3.6V maintenance-free nickel cadmium battery provides up to 8 hour of backup and will automatically recharge within 24 hours via an internal, solid-state two-rate charger. A push-to-test switch allows inspectors to quickly assess the status of the luminary. The GAU-EMG-2X2W-8H can run for 8+ hours when no remote heads are installed. For reliable performance, this unit is constructed of durable 20 gauge steel and features a neutral white finish. Operators may deploy the emergency LED sign in damp locations. LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life. LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps. Mounting: The GAU-EMG-2X2W-8H is compatible with wall mount installations. The back plate features a universal knockout pattern for wall mounting requirements and the top and sides feature knockouts for conduit applications. An easy-snap mounting canopy is available for seamless top or end mounting.
