Remote Operation: The wired dash mount remote control has a 20 foot cord that connects the light and remote together. It has a joystick that controls the position ofÂ the light. It has dual speed control of the motorized rotation and tilt. The joystick controls the motorized 135 degree tilt of the spotlight and the motorized rotation of the light a full 370 degrees. The light continues to move while the joystick is pressed. Once any button is released, the spotlight remains locked in that position until the joystick is moved again.
For the dash mount remote, a powder coated, stamped steel mounting box is also included. The box is completely enclosed. An access hole in the rear of the unit is large enough to enable the connectors for the Golight Radioray to pass through the back. Four 10-32 machine screws hold the remote to the box. They also secure the rear enclosure to the front of the mounting box. The box can be used as a hand held dash mount remote or mounted to any surface via four 10-32 screws. This box eliminates the need to cut a hole in the mounting surface. Instead, you can drill 4 small holes and mount the controller. Â Â
Durability: The GL-9021-F-20X-DB Golight Radioray is designed for hunting and demanding outdoor use with a weather resistant housing constructed of high quality ASA Luran thermoplastic that is heat resistant, impact resistant, UV resistant and able to withstand rugged use and abusive conditions. This particular Golight is black in color, making it ideal for docks and buildings where an attractive appearance is desired. Remote movement of this spotlight is provided by an automotive grade internal motor, gear, and transmission assembly that is constructed of lexan, brass, and stainless steel to provide rust and corrosion resistance as well as long life and reliable operation.
Mounting: The light is permanently mounted with four screws and a rubber gasket. The screws are included.
Power: This light operates with 12 volts DC and draws 3 amps, making it ideal for vehicles, boats, ATVs, and similar sources of 12 volt direct current. On this particular model, the light has a 20 foot harness that connects the wired remote and the Golight. Power connects to the unit via 1 foot cord to be connected to existing vehicle/boat harness. Alternatively, additional 16 gauge wiring can be used to connect power to a fuse box. Included with this light is a 20 foot extension harness. In the event that the 20 foot wiring harness is not long enough to connect the dash mount remote to the light, this extension can be used to extend the reach of the wiring harness another 20 feet.Â
Light Output: The light source in this Golight Radioray is provided by six, six watt LEDs that produce 2,500 lumen of light output. This lamp has a 6000K color temperature, giving it very good color rendering and contrasting properties and the ability to clearly and sharply illuminate objects at long distances. This beam is effective to the far end of its reach, producing enough illumination to read a book at 900 feet.
