Buy American Compliant The Larson Electronics HAL-EXT-LE10 is a low voltage Explosion Proof Exit Sign for Class I, Division 2 work sites and environments. This IP54-rated unit features an edge-lit, acrylic panel and a built-in LED lamp. Operators can secure the exit sign via end, ceiling and back mounting configurations. This explosion proof unit is offered in green or red lettering options. The HAL-EXT-LE10 is designed to improve safety inside Class I, Division 2 work sites by marking exit ways. This 8-watt unit operates on low voltage and features and edge-lit panel. Constructed of acrylic, the clear sign is illuminated using a built-in LED fixture. This component emits up to 442 lumens of light (Cree X-Lamp XR-E) over the sign to ensure detection. Operators can choose between green or red colors, as well as single-face or double-face panel configurations.

The HAL-EXT-LE10 is approved for Class I, Division 2 Groups A,B,C and D locations. This unit carries an IP54 waterproof rating ensuring protection against limited ingress from dust, dirt, oils and full protection against water sprayed at high pressure directly on the explosion proof exit sign. The unit is ideal for applications and industrial operations with a hazardous location classification, where dusty or wet conditions are commonly encountered.
LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current applied and emitting light. With LED lights, there is no warm up time or cool down time before re-striking and provide instant illumination when powered on, adding to the reliability of LED technology. By nature, LED light sources run significantly cooler than traditional lamps, reducing the chance of accidental burns and increased temperatures due to heat emissions. This solid state design of light emitting diodes provides a more reliable, stable, durable, and energy efficient light source over traditional lighting. Wiring/Power: The explosion proof exit sign is equipped with five feet of cord, containing a standard two wire (White+ Black-) connecting configuration. These lights are not multi-voltage; each light is preconfigured for 12 or 24 volt DC current at 8 watts .66 amps on 12V DC and .33 amps on 24V DC. Mounting: The HAL-EXT-LE10 is compatible with end, top and back mounting requirements. End mounting secures the explosion proof exit sign from the side of the end plate, via the junction box. The top mount option secures the sign directly on the ceiling, via the upper section of the canopy. Back mounting secures the sign on horizontal surfaces and walls. All mounting components (screws, hex nuts) are provided with the sign. Applications: Exit ways, hallways, hazardous locations, flammable work sites, oil and gas, confined spaces, processing plants, warehouses and more.
