The HAL-SMDE-GS-15-4X150RT-LED-11KW-4X20GFI is a self contained Class I, Division 2 LED lighting system from Larson Electronics and is designed to provide wide area illumination in remote classified locations where traditional line power is not available. This unit features a three stage telescoping galvanized steel light mast with manual crank winch is designed to quickly and safely deploy 600 watts of intense LED lighting in locations where elevated illumination is needed for maximum area coverage. The light boom can be extended to 15` for maximum area coverage and collapsed to 7` for storage and transportation purposes. The tower is constructed of square steel tubing with a galvanized coating. The mast is elevated using an included 2,500lb manual winch with 3/16" galvanized steel cable.

LED Lights: Included with this light tower are some of our Class I Division 1 wet area suitable high output LED fixtures producing a combined total of approximately 84,000 lumens at 600 watts. These lamps have a copper free aluminum alloy body that is powder coated for added durability and an attractive aesthetic appearance. Special heat dissipating design in conjunction with LED technology helps this fixture achieve an excellent 60,000 hour rated lifespan with 80% lumen retention. Each C1D1 floodlight is securely fastened to the light boom with an adjustable aluminum trunnion bracket to help to provide versatility and maintain lamp stability within its housing. The lamps are connected to a single C1D1 explosion proof junction box at the mast head. 16/3 SOOW cable connects the explosion proof junction box to a C1D1 explosion proof tumbler switch located at the base of the telescoping boom.
The light heads on this unit feature multiple LED drivers which help increase the operational life of the fixture. With traditional LED lights, in the event an LED array or driver fails, the entire fixture no longer illuminates. This new series of LED lamps contains six individual LED boards configured in a series of banks. Each bank contains two high powered LED on a board with an individual driver. In the event of a driver failure, only one bank of LEDs will be effected while the other banks will continue to operate. In the event that of an LED failure, the mating LED will continue to operate.
LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life.
LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps.
Genset: The HAL-SMDE-GS-15-4X150RT-LED-11KW-4X20GFI mobile Class I Division 2 LED light tower includes a Kubota Lowboy II GL11000TM genset that houses a Kubota D722 diesel engine that powers the 11KW 120/240V brushless generator. This genset is liquid cooled and features a single phase generator with electric start ignition. The diesel generator runs at 3600 RPM and is equipped with an EPA/CARB Tier 4 emissions system equipped with spark arrestor, and a 28 gallon internal fuel cell. This genset features key operated electric starting, a twelve volt electrical system, liquid cooling, and replaceable dry element air cleaner. A manual air intake shutdown prevents diesel engine runaway. A 1/8" thick galvanized NEMA 3R enclosure provides safe operation and protection against the elements for the genset.
Power Generation: The genset is equipped with four Class I, Division 1 120V 20-amp outlets. Each bank of two outlets is protected by a 20-amp GFCI, providing ground fault circuit interruption protection to the explosion proof outlets.
Runtime: The four 150 watt C1D1 LED light heads have a considerably less amp draw than the metal halide light heads on traditional light plants. This allows the HAL-SMDE-GS-15-4X150RT-LED-11KW-4X20GFI to achieve up to 35 hours of continual use on a single tank of gas when only operating the light heads. This self contained LED light plant provides operators with a worry free and energy efficient alternative to metal halide light plants.
Light Mast: The LM family of telescoping towers feature a proprietary mast guidance system, which provides increased stability during high winds. The light mast can be rotated a full 360°. By loosening the set bolts, operators can rotate the mast with ease in either direction. The mast itself spins freely, and can typically be rotated with a single hand. Once the desired position has been selected, operators re-tighten the set bolts, securing the light mast in position.

Mount: The light tower and genset enclosure are galvanized for corrosion resistances and to reduce chances of sparking. The light mast is bolted onto a 1/8" thick carbon steel base plate via six 9/16" stainless steel anchor bolts. The mast and genset are secured within a cube-style frame constructed of 2" by 2" by 1/8" thick and measuring 92" long by 40" wide by 95" tall. Four skid pockets allow this unit to be picked up from the sides, and four-corner pick eyelets allow for stable deployment via crane operation. A grated top head mounting plate is attached to the upper section of the mast head, which protects the four C1D1 LED fixtures from tools or debris that may fall from above during deployment.
Protection: All electrical devices and light fixtures are Class I, Division 1 rated and wired in accordance to NEC NFPA 70 Article 501. Genset and genset components are assembled in accordance to NEC NFPA 70 Article 501.125(B).
Larson Electronics can custom tailor these units to the customer`s requirements with longer sections and larger mounting plates. A refund may be arranged excluding freight charges upon inspection. Returned merchandise must be shipped in original packaging, freight prepaid, unused, and in resalable condition, and are subject to 25% restocking fee. PuriLite inspects all returns and reserves the right to refuse credits on damaged, used or non-resalable items. Your only obligation is the freight charge and restocking fee, provided your return is complete with original packaging, all documentation, warranty cards, cables etc. PuriLite reserves the right to authorize product returns after 30 days have passed from the order date. If the product is accepted after this period, it is subject to a 25% restocking fee and credit will be issued toward future purchases only.
Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable for all returns. The customer may also be responsible for return shipping charges, insurance and shipment tracking for returned merchandise.
Once you place an order, the following products are non-returnable: custom-cut, customer built or special order items (such as matting, slings, cranes, prefab offices, buildings, mezzanines, assembled lockers and regularly stocked items such as generators, pressure washers, water and trash pumps, snow throwers, radio headsets, striping paint, line stripers, floor care machines, vacuums, custom fabric chairs, forklifts) your order is considered non-cancellable and any custom-cut, customer built or special order items purchased by you are also non-returnable. Consumable style bulbs or lamps are not returnable. There are no returns on any medical and/or sanitizing products for obvious safety reasons. This includes PPE (including masks), tests, thermometers, sprayers and UVC lighting of any kind (portable and surface).
Leased and hazardous items are also non-returnable. Contact customer service for a complete list of applicable products.
Larson product return policy Every order is tested prior to shipping. The product is tested before it is put into the shipping box, crate, pallet, etc. Larson take pictures and videos of every product for every order being shipped, and store these pictures and videos with the order number in our system. Because of the complexity of some of our products, we have a very limited return policy.
For safety reasons, we do not accept returns on any hazardous location, explosion proof or intrinsically safe products. Once these products leave the factory, we cannot be sure what happens to them. We must re-build and re-certify the units to specification to ensure that the next customer receives an item that is safe to use. This is cost prohibitive. For that reason, we do not accept returns on classified products. We do not accept returns on transformers, phase converters, or frequency converters. In order to install one of the aforementioned products, typically customers will modify the product (i.e. penetrate the housing to make connections, punch out knockouts, remove or damage tinning on lead wires during installation). Because we video test every unit before it ships to ensure the unit operates as described, we know when they leave here the units are operationally functional and meet the output voltage when supplied with the input voltage per the product specification. To be clear, we do not accept returns on these items under any circumstances for these reasons.
Products that are not addressed in the above two conditions must be returned in new, unused condition.
Below are some additional considerations:
Electrical/electronic parts are easily damaged by improper installation or testing. Because electronics are very sensitive to voltage overloads, it does not take much of a voltage spike to ruin a component. Because of this risk, all electrical products returned will undergo electrical testing and assessed a testing fee. This fee will be subtracted from the final return value.
Consumable style bulbs or lamps are not returnable.
Products that contain emergency backup components are subject to very narrow warranty terms and do not qualify for return. For customer convenience, we engage the battery pack prior to shipping all emergency backup products. Many times, particularly with hazardous location rated products, the battery packs are difficult to access and the customer generally plans to install the units shortly after receipt of the shipment. Battery backup components using older technologies (Nicad, NIMH, SLA, etc) will fail quickly if they do not maintain valid grid tie support. In other words, the batteries must receive a consistent maintained charge to perpetuate long lifespans. Battery backup products that are shelved (not installed) for periods greater than 3 weeks will likely fail and need replacement sooner. This replacement will not be covered under warranty. This can also occur is the units are installed but the grid tie option is not connected correctly. Customers can specify that they do not want the battery pack to be engaged at the time of ordering if they plan to shelve the units for long periods of time prior to installation.
There are many products on the site and not all pictures depict the exact configuration of each product. Many products are custom built and/or built on demand. In some cases, products are designed and not sold immediately and rendering may be used. In all cases, the end product is built to the specification listed and the pictures shown may be close approximations. Pictures are more likely to be close approximations with more complex products, including transformers, power distribution systems, control systems, light tower systems and other highly customizable products. In no way does the approximation validate a potential return. We always build to the specification. If customers have questions, they should ask prior to purchase to clarify.
There are no returns on any medical and/or sanitizing products for obvious safety reasons. This includes PPE (including masks), tests, thermometers, sprayers and UVC lighting of any kind (portable and surface)
Many international orders, specialty orders and other complex build orders require prepayment in advance. This prepayment represents a commitment to the order. Cancelling the order will result in a deduction from the original amount paid if any refund is available, since an investment of time and money is typically required to acquire materials and prepare the order. While not all orders in this category require prepayment, cancellation fees may apply to other build orders as well. The percentage of the deduction is at Larson’s discretion but usually ranges from 30 to 50%.
