' Product Overview '
The Larson Electronics HALP-EMG-48-2L-LED-DNMS-2XW Hazardous Area LED Light Fixture is U.S./Canada approved Class 1 Division 2 Groups A, B, C and D, has a T4 temperature rating, and is specifically designed to handle the rigors of wet and corrosive marine environments. This fixture is equipped with an added battery backup providing 90 minutes of emergency runtime, as well as integrated day/night and motion sensors. The HALP-EMG-48-2L-LED-DNMS-2XW hazardous area fluorescent light fixture is designed for use in wet areas and saltwater/marine environments where corrosion resistance is critical to equipment longevity and safety. This fixture is constructed of non-corrosive materials including a polyester housing reinforced with glass fiber, a poured in gasket for reliable sealing and an impact resistant acrylic diffuser. Corrosion resistant stainless steel latches secure the lamp cover to the housing and provide a firm lock against the poured in seal to prevent drips and water intrusion. Designed for total illumination control, the LED lamps can be controlled individually to suit the needs of operations in the hazardous location. This fixture is Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D approved. The HALP-EMG-48-2L-LED-DNMS-2XW also carries an outdoor marine rating and meets US Coast Guard specifications. Emergency Backup Operation: This emergency LED light works, mounts and is wired like our HALP-48-2L-LED-G2 explosion proof LED light fixtures. The main difference is that we add a battery backup unit that adds emergency light functionality to the fixture. This hazardous area emergency light will run one bulb at 28 watts the standard UL suggested 90 minutes after power is lost at 3500 lumens. The light recharges the battery once electrical power is restored. Standard configuration includes a single emergency battery backup that is automatically recharged and kept in a ready state. Alternatively, we can configure this unit to be an emergency only fixture, where the light will only operate when power is lost. Please choose EMG only below for emergency only operation. The battery backup unit includes a switched leg for turning the light fixture on/off without kicking the unit into emergency mode.

Sensor Technology: The emergency LED light is equipped with an innovative and powerful day/night + motion sensor. This sensor, which is located inside the light fixture itself, allows the HALP-EMG-48-2L-LED-DNMS-2XW to operate in one of several different and versatile modes. This LED light fixture can be set to be motion activated, day/night activated or in a combination of motion sensing and day/night modes. This high-tech sensor is also highly adjustable and allows operators to modify the following settings: motion sensor sensitivity, motion sensor time-delay and the intensity output level of the fixture. Having this degree of flexibility in operation and settings offers operators an incredibly versatile light fixture. Sensor Technology: The impressive versatility of the motion + day/night sensor found in the HALP-EMG-48-2L-LED-DNMS-2XW LED light fixture allows for a lot of creativity in the setup of a single one of these light fixtures. However, the versatility is further increased when multiple units are to be installed together such as in a parking garage or other similar structure. Operators can take advantage of the sensor versatility to set up an energy efficient and automated lighting setup. Take a parking garage for example. Operators would be able to set up a sequence of HALP-EMG-48-2L-LED-DNMS-2XW fixtures with alternating lights on separate circuits. The first circuit would have sensors set to a lower lux level than the fixtures on the second circuit. This hypothetical setup would allow half the lights to come on as daylight began to fade and the rest of the lights would only come on once complete darkness had fallen. The fixtures could then be adjusted for motion sensing which would allow selected fixtures to power on when pedestrian or vehicle movement was detected and then turn off after an operator chosen interval to conserve energy. This is just one example of the flexibility and versatility that can be achieved with the HALP-EMG-48-2L-LED-DNMS-2XW. We have eliminated the ballast normally associated with fluorescent fixtures which reduces overall weight, increases lamp life to an extreme 50,000 hours and helps this LED fixture maintain a T4 temperature rating. The solid state design of the included LED lamps give this fixture superior resistance to damage from vibrations and extremes in temperature as well as a lamp service life over twice that of standard T8 bulbs. The 28 watt LED lamps produce more illumination than standard T8 bulbs, but draw only 3/4 of the current. The current generation of our LED T-series style bulbs produce 30% more light than standard T8 bulbs. Voltage: This fixture is universal voltage capable (not multi-tap) and works on the following voltages: 120 Volt 60 HZ, 220 Volt 50 HZ, 240 Volt 60 HZ, 277 Volts 60 HZ. Our HAL-EMG-48-2L-LED-G2 light fixture is both U.S. and Canada approved. Standard Flange Mount Brackets: Flange type stainless steel mounts attached at each end of the fixture enables it to be simply secured to any surface. The mounts provide some shock absorbency protection while enabling the user to simply mount the fixture with the through-hole taps that protrude on each side of the fixture. The mounting holes are 36 9/16 inches on center apart along the top of this hazardous location light. The mounting holes are 7 inches on center across the top of the light. A sliding bracket mount is available so operators can retrofit this LED light fixture to use the pre-existing mounting holes from other fluorescent fixtures. Contact us for the sliding bracket option. Suggested Applications: The HALP-EMG-48-2L-LED-DNMS-2XW is designed for marine wet and damp locations, where corrosion resistant fluorescent lights are required. This includes petrochemical facilities, lubrication pits, oil drilling rigs, crew quarters, solvent/cleaning areas, water treatment areas, processing plants and marine loading docks.
