' Product Overview '
Made in the USA The Larson Electronics HALS-EMG-48-2L-T8 Hazardous Area Fluorescent Light Fixture is NRTL Listed for United States and Canada Class I Division 2 Groups A, B, C and D - NRTL Certified to 1598 listed and ideal for use in industrial hazardous location lighting where wet conditions and chemical/petrochemical vapors may be encountered. ***PLEASE NOTE: ANY FREE SHIPPING OFFERS DO NOT APPLY TO THIS LIGHTING SYSTEM*** The HALS-EMG-48-2L-T8 fixture is a 4 foot long, 2 lamp, Class I Division 2 Groups A, B, C and D hazardous area fluorescent light and a good choice for use in industrial applications and wet areas. This fixture is T4A temperature rated and comes standard with two F32/841-T8 bulbs. The housing on this unit is constructed of powder coated 18 gauge steel for durability and contains a hinged reflector and ballast tray for easy and safe servicing. The lamps are held in place by spring loaded sockets and protected by a hinged glass door with a 3/16” tempered glass lens which is secured with four turn latches. This fluorescent light works, mounts and is wired like our HALS-48-2L-T8 hazardous location fluorescent light fixtures. The main difference is that we attach an extra Bodine ballast box to the unit that adds the emergency light functionality to the fixture. This explosion proof emergency light will run the standard 90 minutes after power is lost. The light recharges the battery once standard electrical power is restored. Standard configuration includes a single emergency ballast that will run a single lamp at 900 lumens for 90 minutes. For an additional charge, a second ballast can be added to run a second lamp for 1800 total lumens output for 90 minutes. The battery backup unit includes a switched leg for turning the light fixture on/off without kicking the unit into emergency mode. This fixture is multi-voltage capable and can be operated with voltages of 120 to 277V AC. This fixture is IP65 rated water and dustproof and approved for wet and marine locations. This fixture also features multiple 1/2" NPT wiring hubs with two located on top of the fixture and two more located at each end, allowing operators to through-wire multiple units in series or mount the unit with wire through conduit pendant mounts. The HALS-EMG-48-2L-T8 provides operators in hazardous locations with a very durable, reliable and affordable lighting solution for open areas where flammable chemicals and vapors may occasionally be present. Standard Surface Mount Brackets: Each surface mounting bracket is attached on each end of the light and allows the operator to adjust the angle of the entire fixture. Pendant mounts are available for operators who wish to mount these fixtures away from the ceiling surface. Pendant Mounting: This light fixture can hang from the ceiling suspected by rigid pipe. Each fixture is equipped with two 1/2" NPT hubs on either side of the fixture. Operators will bring rigid pipe down to the threaded mounting ups. The wiring is fed down through the rigid pipe to one of the NPT hubs and tied to the fixture`s lead wires to complete the electrical connection. The remaining pendant hub provides support for the opposite end of the fixture. Suggested Applications: Aircraft maintenance, Oil drilling rigs, Refineries, Solvent and cleaning areas, Chemical manufacturing, Waste treatment plants, Gas processing plants.
