The Larson Electronics IND-HG-HC1-UVC-1L-R1 PCO Hydroxyl Generator provides no-contact, no-ozone air sanitation inside buildings and spaces up to 1,500 square feet. This generator features one 55-watt UVC germicidal lamp with a titanium dioxide coated stainless steel mesh (protected by a 304 stainless steel lamp shield), MERV 13 air filter, 250 CFM nickel chrome plated fan and digital timer. All system components are secured inside a portable, wheeled case with two padlockable hasps for security and a retractable, soft-grip handle. Available connections include one 5-15 inlet and one 5-15R GFCI outlet for feed-thru operation.

The IND-HG-HC1-UVC-1L-R1 is a powerful air purifying solution for occupied areas and industrial facilities. This no ozone generator has a twin tube T16 bulb that offers 253.7 nm UVC output. The unit features a 4-pin on a single end 2G11 ceramic base. Compatible with 120V AC, this UV lamp contains a 16,000-hour useful lifespan and features a titanium dioxide (TiO2) coated stainless steel mesh at the top and bottom. This component serves as a catalyst, which reacts to the UV light during use. The reaction generates hydroxyl molecules that are capable of sanitizing bacteria, viruses, mold, odors, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and contaminants. A 304 stainless steel lamp shield prevents stray light from exiting the unit.
Suitable for spaces up to 1,500 square feet, the no ozone generator is equipped with a 250 CFM fan to promote air flow in the surrounding area. This component has a nickel chrome plating for long-term durability and corrosion resistance. A 12" x 16" x 2" MERV 13 air filter offers additional protection and filtering against bacteria, pollen, smoke, dust and more. The air filter features tie-down straps that cater to quick filter changes in the field without tools. Operators may access a digital timer for setting timed usage (the unit automatically turns off after a set duration). A 3-position switch enables the selection of the following operating modes: on with timer, on continuous (no timer) and off.
Hydroxyl is considered to be more effective and less harmful than ozone for humans. By comparison, ozone is mostly found in the stratosphere approximately 8 miles from the surface. Very little amounts of ozone exist on the ground because such elements are very harmful to humans. Hydroxyl can be found on the surface and does not impose the same hazards and dangers associated with ozone. Such compounds exist naturally in the atmosphere and help get rid of pollutants in the environment. Hydroxyl is more reactive than ozone and is capable of disinfecting a wider range of VOCs, germs and odors. This form of sanitation is also recommended for use with sensitive materials, as well as in occupied areas. Suitable for cleaning the ducts, AC coils, HVAC systems and surrounding air, there is no downtime associated with using hydroxyl generators (the area does not need to be aired out or vented for hours after treatment). Sanitizing with hydroxyl generators is most effective when there is high volume of air flow, the environment is humid or filled with moisture and a filter is present to remove or trap oxidized elements.
UV radiation from the unit can damage the skin and eyes without proper protection. Operators should avoid exposure to the eyes and skin when the unit is unshielded. In the event of lamp breakage, it is recommended to ventilate the room for 30 minutes and clean the area with gloves (not a vacuum cleaner). Contents should be stored in a sealed plastic bag and brought to a waste/recycling facility.
Inlet/Outlet:
A 15-amp 5-15 inlet is available for 120V connection with standard extension cords. This unit caters to feed-thru operation via one 15-amp 5-15R GFCI outlet. Operators can run up to two units or two other equipment. The maximum load for the entire system cannot exceed 15 amps or the amp rating of the used extension cords. Switching this air purifier off does not cut power to the output receptacle or to any connected equipment.
Portable Case:
The IND-HG-HC1-UVC-1L-R1 is mobile via a portable case with two wheels. Constructed of HPX resin, the heavy-duty case is watertight, crushproof and dustproof. Retractable, soft-grip and side-located handles make transportation easier over surfaces. Two padlockable hasps are available for security.
Note on Environment:
Sunlight and visible light fixtures do not impact the effectiveness of the disinfecting on this UVC sanitation product. Metal halide, high pressure sodium, fluorescent, and LED light fixtures can be left on. The UV radiation emitted from this product is not disrupted by any type of lighting in the environment. Put simply, NO it DOES NOT need to be dark in the area you plan to disinfect. The UV radiation is harmful to the eyes and skin, and that is why you should not be in the area while it is in operation.
