The LED10W-LT-2RU LED light tower is a self contained and portable light tower package that offers high power and extreme portability in a compact and durable design. This unit produces 3440 lumens that can cover an area spanning 375 feet long by 150 feet wide depending on the positioning of the dual LED light heads. This LED light tower includes two 20 watt LED lights mounted to a telescoping aluminum mast that can be adjusted to 8 feet in total height. The entire package weighs approximately 50 pounds and measures 26" high x 17" wide x 8" deep, making it very easy to stow and deploy. Independent on/off switches for each light head for increased versatility.
This unit weighs only ~50 lbs and includes a built in handle for easy transport around the deployment area. There are no loose parts and all connections are already secure with no need for addtional wiring. When fully deployed, this unit will withstand high winds and can be extended to a total of 8 feet in tower height for optimal illumination of the target area. A built-in amber flashing beacon ensures the unit is visible to passing vehicles and workers even in poor visibility conditions.
The LED10W-LT-2RU is equipped with two Larson Electronics`
LED light bars for high-intensity illumination in a wide variety of settings. Each LEDP10W-20E LED light bar from Larson Electronics produces 1,720 lumens of bright light while drawing only 20 watts @ 1.7 amps from a 12 volt electrical system. Two CREE XLamp MC-E ten watt LEDs producing 860 lumens each are paired with high purity optics to produce a 20 degree spread spot beam approximately 375` long by 75` in width. We also offer floodlight versions with a 40 degree beam spread to provide more light over a larger area nearer the fixture, making flood versions ideal for use as work lights. These LED light bars are waterproof to 3 meters, sealed against intrusion by dust and dirt and very ruggedly constructed to withstand the most demanding environments, conditions and applications. These LED light heads can run for 10+ hours on a single charge of the internal batteries in the base of this LED light tower.
An integral Pulse Width Modulation controller, small profile, low power requirements, high durability and versatile mounting system makes these LED light emitters a superior lighting solution for a wide array of applications including but not limited to: flaggers, first responders, disaster relief and emergency services.
Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life.
LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps.
Heat is the single largest factor in premature LED failure and color shifting. These LED units contain advanced drivers which use pulse width modulation to control heat buildup rather than simple voltage regulators which are typically harsh on sensitive electronics and can contribute to early LED failure. These units automatically sense the temperature of each LED and adjust the energy frequency or “duty cycle” accordingly to maintain heat levels within acceptable ranges. This system in essence flashes current at an extremely fast on and off rate to each LED based upon the LED’s core temperature. This flash rate is too fast to detect with the human eye, but provides precise control of the current flowing to each LED and thus the heat it generates. This allows the LEDs to be driven at up to 100% capacity without overheating or visible loss of light output. The LEDs are always driven at the same voltage but the duty cycle, however, is changed to alter how long the LEDs are actually on or off. The end result is more light with less heat and longer LED life with an average 70% lumen maintenance after 50,000 hours.
As well as unparalleled heat control, the LEDP10W-E series of LED light bars from Larson Electronics also offer IP68 rated construction that is designed to withstand extremes of environmental and operating conditions. These units can withstand rapid temperature changes of -40 degrees Celsius to 85 degrees Celsius, are waterproof to three meters and resist ingress of dust, dirt and humidity. The housings are formed from extruded aluminum and the lenses are unbreakable polycarbonate. The CREE XLamp MC-E LEDs offer resistance to shocks and vibrations and are rated at 70% lumen maintenance after 50,000 hours of use.
The two included light heads offer operators substantial angle adjustability so that the light produced can be pointed with precision to properly illuminate the work area or job site as required. Operators simply loosen the appropriate bolt for either vertical or horizontal adjustment, position the light heads in the ideal position and then re-tighten the bolts once the lights are at the desired angle.
AGM sealed lead acid battery, 35 amp hour 12 VDC deep cycle with included charging unit. The battery is rated for 500 charge cycles and has a 24 hour recharge duration after a complete battery discharge. This unit offers various power options, including an internal battery pack and use as an external battery pack with an included special plug. An included AC charger (wall charger) allows operators to easily recharge the battery from normal wall outlets. This portable tower also accepts low voltage input from vehicles and other battery packs to power the light or charge the battery. A DC port (cigarette plug socket) allows users to power other DC devices, in effect allowing this unit to double as a portable 12VDC power supply. Push-to-test volt meter built in to front panel for monitoring battery charge conditions. The LED10W-LT-2RU also features clamp style jumper cables that can be used to jump vehicles or charge the unit`s internal battery.
The aluminum telescoping tower on this unit is comprised of five sections and extends and locks into place much the same as a camera tripod. The user simply loosens the locking clamps on the telescoping tower, extends it to the desired height, and then retightens the clamps to lock it into position. The user can extend the tower to 8 feet in total height. Additional tower stability is provided by collapsible stainless steel legs that provide an 18 inch tripod support base when deployed. Stable surfaces and/or normal conditions do not require the extendible base. When the tower is completely collapsed, this unit has a storage height of approximately 27" with the light bars still attached and 24" with the light bars removed for storage or transportation.
The simple case on this unit contains all the operating equipment and is designed with a built in carrying handle for easy transport. The user simply collapses the tripod and support legs, locks them into place, and the unit is then ready for stowing or transport. A simple push to test meter on the front of the case provides fast charge level notification. The entire package measures 26" high x 17" wide x 8" deep.
