The Larson Electronics LEDGRW-3B-180W-M1 Full Spectrum LED Grow Light promotes healthy plant growth and can be used for indoor growing operations, commercial cannabis production, hydroponics systems and more. This 180-watt LED grow light features full-spectrum capabilities with the following colors/bands: blue, red, white and infrared. Suitable for replacing 400-watt high-pressure sodium and metal halide grow lights, this fan-cooled unit comes with a 6' cord and a mounting kit for overhead/hanging installations.
The LEDGRW-3B-180W-M1 LED grow light from Larson Electronics is an energy-efficient lighting solution for different indoor growing requirements, such as tents, greenhouses and large plant beds. The lighting spectrum of this LED grow light includes: red (620nm to 630nm), deep red (640nm to 660 nm), blue (440nm to 470nm), warm white (3000K to 3500K), white (6500K to 7500K) and infrared (730nm). This spectrum makes it ideal for growing strong, healthy plants. The non-dimmable LED grow light is cooled by an internal fan and aluminum heat sinks located behind the LED board.
There are three selectable lighting channel/modes available on the 180-watt unit. The VEG channel offers blue and white LEDs, which is suitable for seedling growth and germination (ensures strong stems and leaves). The BLOOM channel utilizes all LEDs for full-spectrum output and supports vegetative, flowering and fruiting stages. When R channel is selected, only the red LEDs are on. This mode is designed to work with existing grow lights (such as high-pressure sodium and metal halide lights) that do not provide enough red spectrum at the flowering and fruiting stages. When mounted at 22", the LED grow light offers 3'x3' vegetative coverage. At 16" the unit provides 2.5'x2.5' flowering coverage.
Heat Management:
Heat is the single largest factor in premature LED failure and color shifting. Heat management becomes even more important when using LED lights to grow plants. Some plants require very specific ambient temperatures to grow well which makes climate control very important for indoor growing or hydroponic operations. The LEDGRW-3B-180W-M1 LED grow light features a built-in air circulation system that keeps the already low running temperature of an LED lighting unit at an acceptable level even in warmer growing environments. The superior heat management of this indoor growing light also greatly increases the overall service life of the unit when compared to other types of lights such as fluorescent or high pressure sodium fixtures. LED lights are also much quieter during operation than other types of lighting and do not have the annoying flicker that other types of lighting can produce.
LED Benefits:
Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life.
LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps.
LED lights, including the LEDGRW-3B-180W-M1 LED grow light, draw much less energy and power than other types of lighting. Drawing less power means that energy costs will be lower for growers when compared to growing operations currently utilizing other types of lighting including fluorescent and high pressure sodium lamps. The lower energy consumption and power draw of LED lights also contribute to a long service life which also helps to save growers money in the long run.
Spectrum Information:
Plants require varying wavelengths of light during different phases of the growing process. If a plant does not get the required wavelengths of light, then poor growth and even plant failure can occur. Early models of LED grow lights focused on only two of the required wavelengths. However, a light spectrum that mimics natural daylight and offers all the wavelengths is required by plants during growth and photosynthesis. The LEDGRW-3B-180W-M1 LED grow light consists of blue, red, white and infrared, which closely mimics natural daylight and produces the specific wavelengths that plants need for peak growth, development and photosynthesis production. Each wavelength that is produced by the LEDGRW-3B-180W-M1 is designed to perform at the peak measurements that scientific research has proven to work best for plant growth and development.
This LED grow light operates on 100-240V AC, 50/60Hz.
A 6-foot power cable with plug is included with the light. Daisy chain lighting is possible with multiple LED grow lights. When using a daisy chain configuration, the total power draw of the system must not exceed 600 watts.
The LEDGRW-3B-180W-M1 comes with a hanging kit for ceiling mount or overhead installations. The kit consists of clips with ropes that attach to the corners of the grow light. This mounting method allows operators to setup the unit at specific heights for optimized coverage of the growing area.
