The LM-12-3S-GLVD-EPL-PT-150RT-25C-EPP from Larson Electronics is a 150W Explosion Proof LED Fixture w/ Fold Over 3-Stage Light Mast provides a safe and effective way for operators to quickly raise the included light to elevations of up to twelve feet. This light tower folds over for easy transportation, features a rotating boom that allows for 360° of rotation, and is equipped with a removable mast head for storing mounted equipment when not in use.

This telescoping three stage steel light mast from Larson Electronics is designed to allow operators to quickly and safely deploy the included explosion proof LED light in locations where it must be elevated to heights up to 12' for effective coverage. This light boom can be extended to 12' for maximum area coverage and collapsed to 6.5' for applications where a smaller footprint is required. The tower is constructed of square steel tubing with a lower section 5.3' in length and 4" by 4" by 1/8" thick, middle section 5.4' in length and 3" by 3" by 1/8" thick, and an upper section 5.9' and 2" by 2" by 1/8" thick. Each section has a 2' minimum overlap. The mast is elevated by pressing down on the end of base stage, elevating the mast into the upright position. The mast is extended to its full height using an included 1,000 lb hand winch with 3/16" galvanized cable.
Light Fixture: The LM-12-3S-GLVD-EPL-PT-150RT-25C-EPP is equipped with one explosion proof LED fixture. This Class I Divisions 1 & 2, Class II Divisions 1 & 2 pole top slip fit mount explosion proof light fixture provides 17,500 lumens of high quality light while drawing only 150 watts. The copper free aluminum alloy body is powder coated for added durability and an attractive aesthetic appearance. Special heat dissipating design in conjunction with LED technology helps this fixture to achieve an excellent 60,000 hour rated lifespan with 80% lumen retention. Light weight and a low profile make this unit an attractive alternative to larger and heavier older fixtures.
The EPL-PT-150LED-RT explosion proof light features an adjustable swivel bracket constructed of 3/8" aluminum that allows 270° of adjustment and is attached to a slip fit yoke for easy mounting on the mast and easy removal for storage and transportation. The wiring of the EPL-PT-150LED-RT is terminated in a junction box with 3/4" threaded hub. Operators can run rigid pipe or flexible conduit to the junction box, terminating the electrical connections within.
The explosion proof LED light fixture features multiple LED drivers which helps to increase the operational life of the fixture. With traditional LED lights, in the event an LED array or driver fails, the entire fixture no longer illuminates. This new series of LED lamps contains twelve individual LED boards configured in a series of banks. Each bank contains two LED boards with an individual driver. In the event of a driver failure, only one bank of LEDs will be effected while the other banks will continue to operate. In the event that of an LED failure, the mating LED will continue to operate.
LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life.
LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps.
Light Fixture Durability: The aluminum body and LED lamp give this light excellent durability and resistance to vibration and impacts. The housing is specially designed to dissipate heat which increases the efficiency and lifespan of the LED luminaries. The LED lamp produces 17,500 lumens with a color temperature of 5600K, 5000K, 4500K, 4000K, 3500K, or 3000K and a color rendering index of 75 which produces colors and details much more accurately than high pressure sodium or mercury vapor luminaries. The lamp is T5 temperature rated, Design Lights Consortium approved, and the LED light head retains 80% of its lumen output after 60,000 hours of use, far longer than incandescent or fluorescent lamps.
