' Product Overview '
Made in the USA The Larson Electronics SPLEDXL-2X32E-MS-STRB Solar Powered LED Light is an ideal lighting solution for remote areas and standalone applications where connection to external power is either impractical or unavailable. This rechargeable solar powered LED light is offered in a spotlight or floodlight beam pattern, making it ideal for remote applications. For robust illumination, the unit uses two LED strobing lamps, capable of producing 5,760 lumens each of 6000K rated white light. The SPLEDXL-2X32E-MS-STRB features a motion sensor for automated operation. This solar powered LED light is powered by two 250aH sealed lead acid 12V batteries that are recharged by a 265 watt solar panel. Light output comes from two, 96-watt LED lamps (total of 192 watts) producing 5,760 lumens each for a total lumen output of 11,520 lumens. This solar-powered lighting system features a motion sensor that activates the strobing lights upon sensing movement in the area. The sealed lead acid battery pack is contained within the solar panel, not the light. Charging time for the battery is 5 hours when exposed to direct sunlight. As with all solar powered equipment, charging time is affected by the amount of available ambient light. When ambient light levels drop below a certain level, such as on cloudy days, the unit will not recharge. The included 15` 16/2 SOOW cords with Deutsch 2-pin disconnects that run between the solar panel and the lights offer operators convenience and flexibility during the mounting process. Light Features: The LED strobing lights produce 5,760 lumens of bright light each while drawing only 96 watts @ 8 amps from a 12 volt electrical system. With a 6000K color temperature rating, thirty-two Edison Edixeon® Emitters containing CREE EZBright® three-watt LEDs producing 180 lumens each are paired with high purity 10 degree optics to produce a tightly focused spot beam with limited spread or light spillage per light. We also offer optional floodlight versions with 35 degree optics to produce a wider beam spread and more light over a larger area nearer the fixtures, making flood versions ideal for use as work and area lights. These LED light bars are IP68 rated and waterproof to 3 meters, sealed against intrusion by dust and dirt and very ruggedly constructed to withstand the most demanding environments, conditions and applications. The entire Larson Electronics LEDLB-E series are constructed of extruded aluminum and feature heavier housings, rubber isolated mounts and unbreakable polycarbonate lenses to provide increased durability against vibrations, impacts, waves, hard rains, sand and high winds. Durability: The LEDLB-E series of LED light bars from Larson Electronics offer IP68 rated construction that is designed to withstand extremes of environmental and operating conditions. The LED lights with the ‘E’ part number designation are designed for extreme durability and are larger and nearly twice as heavy as their standard counterparts. These units can withstand rapid temperature changes of -40 degrees Celsius to 85 degrees Celsius, are waterproof to three feet and resist ingress of dust, dirt and humidity. The housings are formed from thick extruded aluminum and the lenses are unbreakable polycarbonate. The Edixeon® LEDs offer inherent LED resistance to shocks and vibrations contributing to these units 15.6Grms rating of vibration tolerance. We recommend these LED lights for high stress - high vibratory conditions, high humidity climates, very cold areas and rough saltwater conditions. They are also well suited to environments where equipment is used in one temperature extreme and stored in another temperature extreme. LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life. LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps. Heat Management: Heat is the single largest factor in premature LED failure and color shifting. These LED units contain advanced drivers which use pulse width modulation to control heat buildup rather than simple voltage regulators which are typically harsh on sensitive electronics and can contribute to early LED failure. These units automatically sense the temperature of each LED and adjust the energy frequency or "duty cycle" accordingly to maintain heat levels within acceptable ranges. This system in essence flashes current at an extremely fast on and off rate to each LED based upon the LED`s core temperature. This flash rate is too fast to detect with the human eye, but provides precise control of the current flowing to each LED and thus the heat it generates. This allows the LEDs to be driven at up to 100% capacity without overheating or visible loss of light output. The LEDs are always driven at the same voltage but the duty cycle, however, is changed to alter how long the LEDs are actually on or off. The end result is more light with less heat and longer LED life with an average 70% lumen maintenance after 50,000 hours. Larson Electronics has further upgraded the options available with this light. A six foot extension cord connects the solar panel to the LED light, allowing the light to be mounted separately from the panel. This means the solar panel can be mounted in direct sunlight while the light is mounted in a workspace. The cord between the light and panel ends in Deutsch connectors, allowing an optional longer extension cord to be attached, increasing the distance the light can be installed from the panel. Optional longer extension cords are available at additional cost. Alternatively, the light can be mounted directly to the panel. Larson Electronics can also configure this light for special requirements including different lights and larger batteries. Mounting (LED lights): Larson Electronics LEDLB series light bars are equipped standard with aluminum mounting blocks which slide within the aluminum housing to allow users to adjust their positioning to match existing or user drilled mounting holes. Each aluminum mounting block has an integrated rubber bushing to absorb vibrations and shocks. To secure the lights in place users simply slide the mounting bolts through the aluminum mounting block and rubber isolator, through the mounting surface, then secure the bolt with a locking nut on the opposite side of the mounting surface. This mounting system enables mounting to flat or round surfaces and allows for minimal 7 degrees of flexibility of angle placement of the light. We also offer a BC-2 bar clamp mounting system  for even greater mounting versatility. Applications: Suggested uses for this light include both commercial and industrial applications as well as consumer based installations. This light is ideal for boat docks, remote locations that rely on batteries for power, exterior outbuilding lighting, hunting cabins, parking areas, sign or entryway illumination, driveway lighting and anywhere a standalone lighting solution is needed.
