' Product Overview '
Made in the USA The Larson Electronics SPLEDXL-IPS-36-ESL-2X-LED-10C Solar Powered LED Light is an ideal lighting solution for remote areas and standalone applications where connection to external power is either impractical or unavailable. This rechargeable solar powered LED light is offered in a floodlight beam pattern and several different operating configurations, making it ideal for remote applications. For robust illumination, the unit uses two LED lamps, capable of producing 4,500 lumens of white light. The SPLEDXL-IPS-36-ESL-2X-LED-10C features a 12-hour runtime per night (1 day of automation without sun). This solar powered LED light is offered in several different configurations and powered by four 40aH lithium-ion batteries for a 160aH battery bank at 12V (160 usable). These batteries are recharged by a 300-watt solar panel. Light output comes from two, 30-watt LED lamps (total of 60 watts) producing 2,250 lumens each for a total lumen output of 4,500 lumens. This solar-powered lighting system is configured to operate non-stop 24/7, day/night with photocell, motion sensor for security purposes, on/off switch for manual operation or flying leads for operators to connect to user provided external switches. The day/night and motion sensor is programmed to activate the solar panel in the evening and to shut it off during the day, activating the LED light when ambient lighting falls below 1 lux. The motion sensor will activate the panel upon detecting movement within range of the panel. The battery pack is contained within the solar panel, not the light. Charging time for the battery is 5 hours when exposed to direct sunlight. As with all solar powered equipment, charging time is affected by the amount of available ambient light. When ambient light levels drop below a certain level, such as on cloudy days, the unit will not recharge. Light Features: Two 30-watt LED fixtures provide powerful illumination in remote sites. These units are configured in a 36" long strip or "bar" profile, which facilitates horizontal or vertical configurations. This energy-efficient LED light is designed for long-term applications, where a sign or landmark must be illuminated for extended periods of time. We offer this light in a 100° flood beam configuration. The 100° flood model provides a wide beam spread for large signs or illumination at close distances. To suit specific exterior sign lighting requirements, we can add the following features to this light (customization may incur additional cost): light guards, light colors, color temperatures, pole mounting, solar power, switches, sensors, cords and more. The LEDs in this linear light are Cree LEDs that have been chosen for their high lumen per watt ratio and extreme long life. These Cree LEDs provide over 75 lumens per watt output and have a 70% lumen retention at 50,000 hours, giving them better efficiency and operational life than comparable LEDs. This LED light produces 2,250 lumens with a color temperature of 5000K and a color rendering index of 75 which produces colors and details much more accurately than incandescent, halogen, or fluorescent light fixtures. An IP65 rated extruded aluminum housing with a tough powder coat finish allows the unit to operate continuously in harsh environments, including areas that experience fluctuating temperatures, constant exposure to water/moisture and rough outdoor elements. This level of protection is recommended for making safety or warning signs more reliable in rugged work sites. LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life. LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps. Heat Management: Heat is the single largest factor in premature LED failure and color shifting. These LED units contain advanced drivers which use pulse width modulation to control heat buildup rather than simple voltage regulators which are typically harsh on sensitive electronics and can contribute to early LED failure. These units automatically sense the temperature of each LED and adjust the energy frequency or "duty cycle" accordingly to maintain heat levels within acceptable ranges. This system in essence flashes current at an extremely fast on and off rate to each LED based upon the LED`s core temperature. This flash rate is too fast to detect with the human eye, but provides precise control of the current flowing to each LED and thus the heat it generates. This allows the LEDs to be driven at up to 100% capacity without overheating or visible loss of light output. The LEDs are always driven at the same voltage but the duty cycle, however, is changed to alter how long the LEDs are actually on or off. The end result is more light with less heat and longer LED life with an average 70% lumen maintenance after 50,000 hours. Wiring: A 20-foot cord is available between the solar panel and external charge control box for remote mounting installations. Two sets of 10-foot cords are also available between the external charge control box and LED fixtures. Mounting: Mounting for each LED fixture is provided by two standard adjustable end brackets that allow operators to mount the light to flat surfaces and then adjust the light 170° vertically for best placement. Once installed, operators simply rotate the light fixture side to side to position the light output as needed. This outdoor light can be installed above or under signs. The solar panel can be mounted on surfaces or poles for maximum exposure to sunlight. Larson Electronics has further upgraded the options available with this light. An extension cord connects the solar panel to the LED light, allowing the light to be mounted separately from the panel. This means the solar panel can be mounted in direct sunlight while the light is mounted in a workspace. The cord between the light and panel ends in Deutsch connectors, allowing an optional longer extension cord to be attached, increasing the distance the light can be installed from the panel. Optional longer extension cords are available at additional cost. Alternatively, the light can be mounted directly to the panel. Larson Electronics can also configure this light for special requirements including different lights and larger batteries. Applications: Suggested uses for this light include both commercial and industrial applications as well as consumer based installations. This light is ideal for boat docks, remote locations that rely on batteries for power, exterior outbuilding lighting, hunting cabins, parking areas, sign or entryway illumination, driveway lighting and anywhere a standalone lighting solution is needed.
