The WCDE-4-MHL-EW mobile light tower from Larson Electronics is a towable lighting package powered by a water cooled diesel engine turning a single bearing 7,500 watt generator. With four 1,000 watt metal halide lamps producing 440,000 lumens this unit will illuminate a 6-7 acre area continuously without refueling for up to 50 hours. The four-stage light tower features an electric winch system with a programmed stop for seamless deployment.
The WCDE-4-MHL-EW mobile light tower is a self contained towable light tower package that produces enough light to illuminate an area up to 7 acres in size. This unit contains a water cooled diesel engine powering a 7,500 watt generator, which supplies the current to four 1,000 watt metal halide lamps producing 110,000 lumens each for a combined total of 440,000 lumens of light. This unit can run uninterrupted for 50 hours straight without refueling and includes a telescoping light mast which can elevate the four metal halide lamps to a height of 25 feet. The mast is elevated using an included 1,000 lbs electric winch with 3/16" cable and extended to its full height using a second 1,000 lbs electric winch.
The WCDE-4-MHL-EW mobile light tower incorporates a long list of impressive features. The diesel engine is a water cooled Kubota that operates at 3600 rpm. This engine features key operated electric starting, a full twelve volt electrical system, automatic low oil pressure and high temperature safety shutoffs, dual fuel filters and easy access oil and radiator drain ports to facilitate maintenance. A 28 gallon fuel tank allows the engine to operate for 50 hours continuously without refueling. The 7,500 watt generator is a single bearing design and produces 120/240 volt current at 60 Hz. The generator uses a four wire hookup system with an external ground allowing for setting up both electrical and mechanical safe grounding systems.
Lights: The lighting system on this unit is comprised of four 1,000 watt metal halide lamps producing 110,000 lumens of light each attached to the end of the telescoping light boom. These floodlights produce a wide flood light pattern capable of illuminating a minimum of 5 acres with a combined total of 440,000 lumens of light. Each floodlight is securely fastened to the light boom and each lamp includes a support bracket to help maintain lamp stability within its housing. The lamps are connected to the power source via a water tight male pin connector that attaches to a receptacle located on the end of the telescoping boom.
Controls: The operations system for this unit is a centrally located control panel within the light tower enclosure. Four circuit breaker protected switches allow individual control of the lights while an individual hour meter tracks unit operating time. Also included is an alternator warning light, fuel primer system, preheating switch, and a 120 volt GFCI duplex receptacle for auxiliary power takeoff.
Telescoping Mast: The telescoping mast consists of four sections extending up to 25 feet through the use of an electric winch system with a programmed stop and allows for full, 360-degree light rotation. By loosening the T-Handle, operators can rotate the mast with ease in either direction. The mast can be positioned in one of four different directions, and locked back in place by re-tightening the T-handle. The mast itself spins freely and can typically be rotated with a single hand. This component can be collapsed to 12` for applications where a smaller footprint is required. The telescoping tower is constructed of steel with a powder coat finish to resist rusting and corrosion and is capable of withstanding 125 mph winds.
Housing: All of the operating components are housed within a protective compartment constructed of 14 gauge steel and designed to provide airflow for cooling. A spillage free frame with an external drain system will conatain all fluids to prevent road hazards or damage to the environment. Side wing doors provide access to the interior while latches provide secure closing when the unit is in use. The design and construction of this enclosure along with the commercial grade muffler system helps this unit operate at a low 73 Db noise level @ 23 ft. The entire unit can be loaded and unloaded onto trucks via forklift sleeves mounted to the top section of the light mast. The entire unit is mounted onto a two wheel trailer with a 2,000 lbs leaf spring axle. A standard two inch ball coupling and two standard safety chains allow for easy hookup and towing.
Applications: Construction sites, remote locations, industrial operations, outdoor lighting systems, emergency services, camp sites, concerts, events, checkpoints, security, law enforcement, commercial projects, wide area illumination and more.

Return & Refund Policy
For All non-Larson Products If you are not satisfied with a product, contact us by emailing or call 1-844-787-LITE within 30 days of receipt. A refund may be arranged excluding freight charges upon inspection. Returned merchandise must be shipped in original packaging, freight prepaid, unused, and in resalable condition, and are subject to 25% restocking fee. PuriLite inspects all returns and reserves the right to refuse credits on damaged, used or non-resalable items. Your only obligation is the freight charge and restocking fee, provided your return is complete with original packaging, all documentation, warranty cards, cables etc. PuriLite reserves the right to authorize product returns after 30 days have passed from the order date. If the product is accepted after this period, it is subject to a 25% restocking fee and credit will be issued toward future purchases only.
Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable for all returns. The customer may also be responsible for return shipping charges, insurance and shipment tracking for returned merchandise.
Once you place an order, the following products are non-returnable: custom-cut, customer built or special order items (such as matting, slings, cranes, prefab offices, buildings, mezzanines, assembled lockers and regularly stocked items such as generators, pressure washers, water and trash pumps, snow throwers, radio headsets, striping paint, line stripers, floor care machines, vacuums, custom fabric chairs, forklifts) your order is considered non-cancellable and any custom-cut, customer built or special order items purchased by you are also non-returnable. Consumable style bulbs or lamps are not returnable. There are no returns on any medical and/or sanitizing products for obvious safety reasons. This includes PPE (including masks), tests, thermometers, sprayers and UVC lighting of any kind (portable and surface).
Leased and hazardous items are also non-returnable. Contact customer service for a complete list of applicable products.
Larson product return policy Every order is tested prior to shipping. The product is tested before it is put into the shipping box, crate, pallet, etc. Larson take pictures and videos of every product for every order being shipped, and store these pictures and videos with the order number in our system. Because of the complexity of some of our products, we have a very limited return policy.
For safety reasons, we do not accept returns on any hazardous location, explosion proof or intrinsically safe products. Once these products leave the factory, we cannot be sure what happens to them. We must re-build and re-certify the units to specification to ensure that the next customer receives an item that is safe to use. This is cost prohibitive. For that reason, we do not accept returns on classified products. We do not accept returns on transformers, phase converters, or frequency converters. In order to install one of the aforementioned products, typically customers will modify the product (i.e. penetrate the housing to make connections, punch out knockouts, remove or damage tinning on lead wires during installation). Because we video test every unit before it ships to ensure the unit operates as described, we know when they leave here the units are operationally functional and meet the output voltage when supplied with the input voltage per the product specification. To be clear, we do not accept returns on these items under any circumstances for these reasons.
Products that are not addressed in the above two conditions must be returned in new, unused condition.
Below are some additional considerations:
Electrical/electronic parts are easily damaged by improper installation or testing. Because electronics are very sensitive to voltage overloads, it does not take much of a voltage spike to ruin a component. Because of this risk, all electrical products returned will undergo electrical testing and assessed a testing fee. This fee will be subtracted from the final return value.
Consumable style bulbs or lamps are not returnable.
Products that contain emergency backup components are subject to very narrow warranty terms and do not qualify for return. For customer convenience, we engage the battery pack prior to shipping all emergency backup products. Many times, particularly with hazardous location rated products, the battery packs are difficult to access and the customer generally plans to install the units shortly after receipt of the shipment. Battery backup components using older technologies (Nicad, NIMH, SLA, etc) will fail quickly if they do not maintain valid grid tie support. In other words, the batteries must receive a consistent maintained charge to perpetuate long lifespans. Battery backup products that are shelved (not installed) for periods greater than 3 weeks will likely fail and need replacement sooner. This replacement will not be covered under warranty. This can also occur is the units are installed but the grid tie option is not connected correctly. Customers can specify that they do not want the battery pack to be engaged at the time of ordering if they plan to shelve the units for long periods of time prior to installation.
There are many products on the site and not all pictures depict the exact configuration of each product. Many products are custom built and/or built on demand. In some cases, products are designed and not sold immediately and rendering may be used. In all cases, the end product is built to the specification listed and the pictures shown may be close approximations. Pictures are more likely to be close approximations with more complex products, including transformers, power distribution systems, control systems, light tower systems and other highly customizable products. In no way does the approximation validate a potential return. We always build to the specification. If customers have questions, they should ask prior to purchase to clarify.
There are no returns on any medical and/or sanitizing products for obvious safety reasons. This includes PPE (including masks), tests, thermometers, sprayers and UVC lighting of any kind (portable and surface)
Many international orders, specialty orders and other complex build orders require prepayment in advance. This prepayment represents a commitment to the order. Cancelling the order will result in a deduction from the original amount paid if any refund is available, since an investment of time and money is typically required to acquire materials and prepare the order. While not all orders in this category require prepayment, cancellation fees may apply to other build orders as well. The percentage of the deduction is at Larson’s discretion but usually ranges from 30 to 50%.
