The WCDE-7-PLM30-4X400W-LED LED Light Plant from Larson Electronics is a high power lighting package powered by a 7kw brushless water cooled diesel generator. The four 400 watt LED lamps included with this unit produce a combined total of 216,000 lumens and is a direct replacement for 800 watt metal halide light plants. This trailer mounted light tower and generator set comes equipped with a 150 gallon fuel tank that will run continuously without refueling for up to 225 hours consecutively.
The WCDE-7-PLM30-4X400W-LED LED Light Plant is a self contained, towable, high power light tower package. This unit contains a water cooled diesel engine powering a 7KW Kubota generator, which supplies the current for four 400 watt LED lights producing 54,000 lumens each, for a combined total of 216,000 lumens of light. This unit can run uninterrupted for up to 225 continuous hours without refueling and includes a pneumatic telescoping light mast which can elevate the four high output LED lamps to a height of 30 feet. This mobile floodlight package is ideal for large scale event illumination, construction, mining, industrial operations, and anywhere a mobile full power lighting system capable of extended operation is needed.
Lights: The lighting system on this unit is comprised of four our of 400watt LED lamps producing 60,000 lumens of light each attached to the end of the telescoping pneumatic light boom. These floodlights produce a wide flood light pattern with a combined total of 1,600 watts and 216,000 lumens of light. The GAU-LTL-400W-LED lights are ideal replacements for fragile and hot running 800 watt metal halide lamps, offering increased durability, longer lamp life, and lower power consumption. The entire lighting assembly is connected to the power source via a 4-switch control box. Each light head is on an individual circuit and can be powered on or off independently of the other light fixtures.
Heat Management: Heat is the single largest factor in premature LED failure and color shifting. These LED units feature individual heat sinks per bank of six LEDs to control heat buildup rather than utilizing a single housing to dissipate heat. This allows for more thorough cooling of the LEDs for extended operating periods. This allows the LEDs to be driven at up to 90% capacity without overheating or visible loss of light output. The end result is more light with less heat and longer LED life with an average 70% lumen maintenance after 80,000 hours. In addition, should an LED failure occur, these LED flood lights are field serviceable. Each bank of six LEDs can be replaced with the fixture installed. This allows for the tower to stay in operation until repairs can take place, and eliminates the need to remove and disassemble the entire fixture for repairs.
Durability: As well as unparalleled heat control, the GAU-LTL-400W-LED series of LED lights from Larson Electronics also offer IP67 rated construction that is designed to withstand extremes of environmental and operating conditions. These units can withstand rapid temperature changes of -40° Celsius to +80° Celsius, are waterproof, and resist ingress of dust, dirt and humidity. The housings are formed from die cast aluminum and the optics are high transmission PMMA with 98% light transmittance. The Cree® LEDs help these units achieve resistance to vibrations and are rated at 70% lumen maintenance after 80,0000 hours of use. We use these LED lights for applications where a lot of vibration, dust, dirt, dampness and abusive working conditions are encountered.
Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current applied and emitting light. With LED lights, there is no warm up time or cool down time before re-striking and provide instant illumination when powered on, adding to the reliability of LED technology. By nature, LED light sources run significantly cooler than traditional lamps, reducing the chance of accidental burns and increased temperatures due to heat emissions. This solid state design of light emitting diodes provides a more reliable, stable, durable, and energy efficient light source over traditional lighting.
The above image shows the comparison of the traditional 4000 watt metal halide light plant (left) to the WCDE-7-PLM30-4X400W-LED LED light plant. The area being illuminated by each tower is 300` in length and 250` in width. Unlike the metal halide light plant, there are no hot spots with the LED plant. This high output LED light plant provides an even beam spread over the targeted work area without overcast, glare, light spillage, and wasted illumination. Color rendering is also increased with LED light plants, providing a more realistic night vision that more closely resembles natural daylight illumination.
Genset: The WCDE-7-PLM30-4X400W-LED mobile light tower includes a Kubota Lowboy II GL7000TM genset that houses a Kubota Z482 diesel engine that powers the 7KW 120/240V brushless generator. This genset is liquid cooled and features a single phase generator with electric start ignition. The diesel generator runs at 3600 RPM and is equipped with an EPA/CARB Tier 4 emissions system. A 150 gallon fuel cell sits beside the genset and is equipped with an electric fuel delivery system. The fuel cell is constructed of single a heavy gauge steel single wall frame with internal anti-splash baffles. This genset features key operated electric starting, a twelve volt electrical system, liquid cooling, replaceable dry element air cleaner, and a full enclosure for safe operation and protection against the elements. This engine also features cold weather options to improve performance under cold weather conditions.

Runtime: The four 400 watt LED light heads have a considerably less amp draw than the metal halide light heads on traditional light plants. This allows the WCDE-7-PLM30-4X400W-LED to achieve up to 225 hours of continual use on a single tank of gas when only operating the light heads and air compressor. When running 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, this LED light plant will run for 9 days and 9 hours straight without refueling. When the genset is running for 12 hours a day, this tower will provide on-site illumination for up to 18 days and 18 hours before needing more fuel. This self contained LED light plant provides operators with a worry free and energy efficient alternative to metal halide light plants.

Telescoping Boom: The aluminum pneumatic mast reaches 30` in height via the use of a 220 volt air compressor. The compressor is equipped with a pressure switch that maintains the pressure within the mast. Once the mast is deployed from the component control center, its operation is automated. The air compressor will turn on briefly when the pressure in the mast falls below the fully inflated threshold. In normal operation, the air compressor may turn on once every few days for about 5 minutes to top off the mast. When it is time to take the mast down for transport, the operator simply releases the pressure switch and the mast will slowly release pressure and lower to its full collapsed height of 8.25 feet. At the top of the mast, we include a removable mounting bracket that is 4 foot in length and supports the four LED light fixtures.
The air operation of the pneumatic mast provides operators with convenient and easy deployment, unlike traditional light plants with manual crank winches or time consuming and noisy electric winches. The mast goes from its fully collapsed position to fully extended height of 30` in 90 seconds. All wiring is internally ran, so there are no pinch points and no messy wiring harnesses to get in the way during deployment.
Housing: All of the operating components are housed with protective compartments designed to provide protection against the elements while providing easy access for operation and servicing. Hinged doors provide access to interior control and operating systems while latches provide secure closing while the unit is in use or transport. All controls, systems and operating equipment is labeled with the proper safety decals and notifications.
Trailer: The entire system is mounted onto a two wheel, single axle trailer constructed of tube steel and 1/8" diamond plate trailer bed. The trailer is approximately 8 feet long and 6 feet wide. Each axle is rated at 3,500 lbs. and equipped with electric brakes and ST205/75/D15 H188 tubeless tires and steel wheels. The trailer is equipped with a removable tongue for storage, transport, and security purposes. For an additional charge, we offer removable wheels in addition to the removable tongue for extra security. A single 3,500 lbs. rated tongue jack provides a stable connect-disconnect platform as well as additional stability during tower deployment. The trailer is finished in industrial grade paint for protection against rust and corrosion and provides an attractive finish. The five 3,500 lbs. integrated outriggers can be slid out from the frame and pinned into place. A standard crank style support leg can be used to secure each outrigger to the ground. The outrigger feet are over-sized and equipped with through holes for additional ground anchoring mechanisms.

If the product is accepted after this period, it is subject to a 25% restocking fee and credit will be issued toward future purchases only.
Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable for all returns. The customer may also be responsible for return shipping charges, insurance and shipment tracking for returned merchandise.
Once you place an order, the following products are non-returnable: custom-cut, customer built or special order items (such as matting, slings, cranes, prefab offices, buildings, mezzanines, assembled lockers and regularly stocked items such as generators, pressure washers, water and trash pumps, snow throwers, radio headsets, striping paint, line stripers, floor care machines, vacuums, custom fabric chairs, forklifts) your order is considered non-cancellable and any custom-cut, customer built or special order items purchased by you are also non-returnable. Consumable style bulbs or lamps are not returnable. There are no returns on any medical and/or sanitizing products for obvious safety reasons. This includes PPE (including masks), tests, thermometers, sprayers and UVC lighting of any kind (portable and surface).
Leased and hazardous items are also non-returnable. Contact customer service for a complete list of applicable products.
Larson product return policy Every order is tested prior to shipping. The product is tested before it is put into the shipping box, crate, pallet, etc. Larson take pictures and videos of every product for every order being shipped, and store these pictures and videos with the order number in our system. Because of the complexity of some of our products, we have a very limited return policy.
For safety reasons, we do not accept returns on any hazardous location, explosion proof or intrinsically safe products. Once these products leave the factory, we cannot be sure what happens to them. We must re-build and re-certify the units to specification to ensure that the next customer receives an item that is safe to use. This is cost prohibitive. For that reason, we do not accept returns on classified products. We do not accept returns on transformers, phase converters, or frequency converters. In order to install one of the aforementioned products, typically customers will modify the product (i.e. penetrate the housing to make connections, punch out knockouts, remove or damage tinning on lead wires during installation). Because we video test every unit before it ships to ensure the unit operates as described, we know when they leave here the units are operationally functional and meet the output voltage when supplied with the input voltage per the product specification. To be clear, we do not accept returns on these items under any circumstances for these reasons.
Products that are not addressed in the above two conditions must be returned in new, unused condition.
Below are some additional considerations:
Electrical/electronic parts are easily damaged by improper installation or testing. Because electronics are very sensitive to voltage overloads, it does not take much of a voltage spike to ruin a component. Because of this risk, all electrical products returned will undergo electrical testing and assessed a testing fee. This fee will be subtracted from the final return value.
Consumable style bulbs or lamps are not returnable.
Products that contain emergency backup components are subject to very narrow warranty terms and do not qualify for return. For customer convenience, we engage the battery pack prior to shipping all emergency backup products. Many times, particularly with hazardous location rated products, the battery packs are difficult to access and the customer generally plans to install the units shortly after receipt of the shipment. Battery backup components using older technologies (Nicad, NIMH, SLA, etc) will fail quickly if they do not maintain valid grid tie support. In other words, the batteries must receive a consistent maintained charge to perpetuate long lifespans. Battery backup products that are shelved (not installed) for periods greater than 3 weeks will likely fail and need replacement sooner. This replacement will not be covered under warranty. This can also occur is the units are installed but the grid tie option is not connected correctly. Customers can specify that they do not want the battery pack to be engaged at the time of ordering if they plan to shelve the units for long periods of time prior to installation.
There are many products on the site and not all pictures depict the exact configuration of each product. Many products are custom built and/or built on demand. In some cases, products are designed and not sold immediately and rendering may be used. In all cases, the end product is built to the specification listed and the pictures shown may be close approximations. Pictures are more likely to be close approximations with more complex products, including transformers, power distribution systems, control systems, light tower systems and other highly customizable products. In no way does the approximation validate a potential return. We always build to the specification. If customers have questions, they should ask prior to purchase to clarify.
There are no returns on any medical and/or sanitizing products for obvious safety reasons. This includes PPE (including masks), tests, thermometers, sprayers and UVC lighting of any kind (portable and surface)
Many international orders, specialty orders and other complex build orders require prepayment in advance. This prepayment represents a commitment to the order. Cancelling the order will result in a deduction from the original amount paid if any refund is available, since an investment of time and money is typically required to acquire materials and prepare the order. While not all orders in this category require prepayment, cancellation fees may apply to other build orders as well. The percentage of the deduction is at Larson’s discretion but usually ranges from 30 to 50%.
