Made in the USA The Larson Electronics EPEXC-25-ILS-5C-2XBCE Explosion Proof Extension Cord with Inline Switch allows operators to safely activate and deactivate connected equipment within Class I, Division 1 and Class II, Division 1 rated hazardous work areas. The 2-pole, 3-wire unit has a 5' 14/3 SOOW cord with blunt cut end on the input side and 25' 14/3 SOOW cord with blunt cut end on the output side. Constructed of copper-free aluminum, the device is compatible with 100-250V AC. The EPEXC-25-ILS-5C-2XBCE is rated at 15 amps of continuous service and can be used in combustible areas. The cord is chemical and abrasion resistant and comes with a Class I, Division 1 explosion proof switch installed on a back plate with a carrying handle. This switch is made out of copper free aluminum with a triple coating for durability. The input side has 5' of 14/3 SOOW cord with blunt cut end. Operators may access 25' of 14/3 SOOW cord with blunt cut end on the output side. Explosion proof lights, blowers and fans typically do not contain their own on and off switches and are plugged in some distance from the hazardous work area, forcing operators to walk some distance out of the work area to turn this equipment on or off. This switch allows operators to safely connect and disconnect equipment simply by turning off the switch before changing connections. To remove all risk and retain the highest level of protection, operators should make all connections outside of the hazardous work area. Applications: Hazardous locations, oil and gas facilities, petroleum refineries, chemical processing, lighting systems, overcurrent protection, short circuit protection and more.
