The Larson Electronics EPEXC-CO-50M-12.3-20A 50 meter Explosion Proof extension cord allows operators to safely extend the range of their explosion proof light or equipment cords beyond the boundaries of the hazardous work area. Equipped with Class I & II, Division 1 & 2 plug and connector, this unit is approved for use with explosion proof equipment within classified environments.
Each explosion proof extension cord is constructed of 50 meters of 12/3 SOOW cord and rated at 20 amps of continuous service. The cord is chemical and abrasion resistant and comes with an explosion proof, 20 amp connector style receptacle with hinged cover installed on one end and an explosion proof 20-amp plug installed on the other end. The plug on this cord can only be used in T-style outlets and will not work in standard electrical outlets.
The plugs on these units are of a twist lock design. In order for a secure and working connection to take place, the operator must insert the plug and twist until it locks into place. This ensures a safe seal is made before any sparks from electrical contact can take place. To ensure the highest safety, operators should make connections outside of the hazardous area.
The receptacle is constructed of non sparking aluminum and finished with an epoxy powder coating for durability and added corrosion resistance. The internal receptacle plug contacts are constructed of brass and designed to maintain constant pressure along their entire length for superior connectivity. The plug receptacle is deeply recessed to prevent accidental contacts and designed for twist lock plug insertion to provide secure connections. A neoprene seal fitted inside the connector receptacle seals against the plug when inserted to provide positive sealing against water ingress. A spring loaded receptacle door provides an automatic weather-tight seal when the plug is removed. This flip-style lid features a special notch, allowing operators to lock the door in the open position while plugging or unplugging devices. With no devices plugged into the connector, the lid will screw shut, providing a NEMA 4X seal. When a plug is installed in this connector, the internal seals provide a NEMA 3 seal.

These explosion proof extension cords are preconfigured in 125V (left) or 250V (right). Each unit is equipped with a 20 amp explosion proof cord cap and rated for 20 amps of continual service. The outlets are a twistlock design. The deep recessed contacts in the receptacle housing prevents ordinary and wet location plugs from activating the explosion proof outlets.
125V 5-20P Explosion Proof Straight Blade Plug
250V 6-20P Explosion Proof Straight Blade Plug
Outlet accepts EPP-15A and EPP-20A explosion proof plugs
We offer this unit in a 125V or 250V configuration. Each receptacle`s contacts are deep recessed to avoid accidental contact and will accept standard non explosion proof plugs that are NEMA 5-20R, or 6-20R compatible although explosion proof plugs must be used to preserve explosion proof approval in hazardous environments. Ordinary location plugs will NOT activate this cord`s explosion proof receptacles. This explosion proof connector is a mate for the Larson Electronics EPP-15A and EPP-20A explosion proof plugs and is compatible with all the Larson Electronics explosion proof lights we make with an explosion proof plug. This unit`s receptacle is designed to safely contain any arcs between the internal contacts that may be created within the receptacle housing.
Inter-Compatibility: These cords use T style plugs and will work with non-explosion proof standard receptacles and plugs (NEMA 5-15R, 5-20R, or 6-20R) but will not work with standard 120V wall outlets. The included plugs and receptacle are cross-interchangeable with Crouse Hind part# ENP5201 plugs and receptacles and Hubble-Killiark part# UGP-20231 ACCEPTOR® plugs and receptacles. Any equipment requiring these C-H or H-B plugs should work with these cords. Due to possible manufacturer changes we cannot guarantee interchangeability although we have made every effort to ensure cross compatibility correctness.
Suggested Applications: Manufacturing, Industrial, Warehouse, Lighting, Explosion Proof Light Fixtures, Grinders, Wet areas or Locations Where Combustible Dust is Present.

Return & Refund Policy
For All non-Larson Products If you are not satisfied with a product, contact us by emailing or call 1-844-787-LITE within 30 days of receipt. A refund may be arranged excluding freight charges upon inspection. Returned merchandise must be shipped in original packaging, freight prepaid, unused, and in resalable condition, and are subject to 25% restocking fee. PuriLite inspects all returns and reserves the right to refuse credits on damaged, used or non-resalable items. Your only obligation is the freight charge and restocking fee, provided your return is complete with original packaging, all documentation, warranty cards, cables etc. PuriLite reserves the right to authorize product returns after 30 days have passed from the order date. If the product is accepted after this period, it is subject to a 25% restocking fee and credit will be issued toward future purchases only.
Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable for all returns. The customer may also be responsible for return shipping charges, insurance and shipment tracking for returned merchandise.
Once you place an order, the following products are non-returnable: custom-cut, customer built or special order items (such as matting, slings, cranes, prefab offices, buildings, mezzanines, assembled lockers and regularly stocked items such as generators, pressure washers, water and trash pumps, snow throwers, radio headsets, striping paint, line stripers, floor care machines, vacuums, custom fabric chairs, forklifts) your order is considered non-cancellable and any custom-cut, customer built or special order items purchased by you are also non-returnable. Consumable style bulbs or lamps are not returnable. There are no returns on any medical and/or sanitizing products for obvious safety reasons. This includes PPE (including masks), tests, thermometers, sprayers and UVC lighting of any kind (portable and surface).
Leased and hazardous items are also non-returnable. Contact customer service for a complete list of applicable products.
Larson product return policy Every order is tested prior to shipping. The product is tested before it is put into the shipping box, crate, pallet, etc. Larson take pictures and videos of every product for every order being shipped, and store these pictures and videos with the order number in our system. Because of the complexity of some of our products, we have a very limited return policy.
For safety reasons, we do not accept returns on any hazardous location, explosion proof or intrinsically safe products. Once these products leave the factory, we cannot be sure what happens to them. We must re-build and re-certify the units to specification to ensure that the next customer receives an item that is safe to use. This is cost prohibitive. For that reason, we do not accept returns on classified products. We do not accept returns on transformers, phase converters, or frequency converters. In order to install one of the aforementioned products, typically customers will modify the product (i.e. penetrate the housing to make connections, punch out knockouts, remove or damage tinning on lead wires during installation). Because we video test every unit before it ships to ensure the unit operates as described, we know when they leave here the units are operationally functional and meet the output voltage when supplied with the input voltage per the product specification. To be clear, we do not accept returns on these items under any circumstances for these reasons.
Products that are not addressed in the above two conditions must be returned in new, unused condition.
Below are some additional considerations:
Electrical/electronic parts are easily damaged by improper installation or testing. Because electronics are very sensitive to voltage overloads, it does not take much of a voltage spike to ruin a component. Because of this risk, all electrical products returned will undergo electrical testing and assessed a testing fee. This fee will be subtracted from the final return value.
Consumable style bulbs or lamps are not returnable.
Products that contain emergency backup components are subject to very narrow warranty terms and do not qualify for return. For customer convenience, we engage the battery pack prior to shipping all emergency backup products. Many times, particularly with hazardous location rated products, the battery packs are difficult to access and the customer generally plans to install the units shortly after receipt of the shipment. Battery backup components using older technologies (Nicad, NIMH, SLA, etc) will fail quickly if they do not maintain valid grid tie support. In other words, the batteries must receive a consistent maintained charge to perpetuate long lifespans. Battery backup products that are shelved (not installed) for periods greater than 3 weeks will likely fail and need replacement sooner. This replacement will not be covered under warranty. This can also occur is the units are installed but the grid tie option is not connected correctly. Customers can specify that they do not want the battery pack to be engaged at the time of ordering if they plan to shelve the units for long periods of time prior to installation.
There are many products on the site and not all pictures depict the exact configuration of each product. Many products are custom built and/or built on demand. In some cases, products are designed and not sold immediately and rendering may be used. In all cases, the end product is built to the specification listed and the pictures shown may be close approximations. Pictures are more likely to be close approximations with more complex products, including transformers, power distribution systems, control systems, light tower systems and other highly customizable products. In no way does the approximation validate a potential return. We always build to the specification. If customers have questions, they should ask prior to purchase to clarify.
There are no returns on any medical and/or sanitizing products for obvious safety reasons. This includes PPE (including masks), tests, thermometers, sprayers and UVC lighting of any kind (portable and surface)
Many international orders, specialty orders and other complex build orders require prepayment in advance. This prepayment represents a commitment to the order. Cancelling the order will result in a deduction from the original amount paid if any refund is available, since an investment of time and money is typically required to acquire materials and prepare the order. While not all orders in this category require prepayment, cancellation fees may apply to other build orders as well. The percentage of the deduction is at Larson’s discretion but usually ranges from 30 to 50%.
