| The HL-15 is a 35 Watt HID handheld light that emits 3200 lumens (15 million candlepower). Its ideal applications would include recreational boating, commercial fishing, sport fishing, search and rescue and security. This is the perfect light for harsh environments. This high intensity discharge handheld light projects up to a 2,000 foot beam. It has an optimized beam pattern for fast and accurate positioning. The HL-15 has HID Xenon technology that provides four times the light per watt compared to halogen. This handheld light is made of thermoplastic rubber and is completely sealed from the elements. This light is so tough that it is nearly impossible to break. The HL-15 is rugged, durable and floats on water! The high intensity discharge lights do not use filament based bulbs. Instead, 2 electrodes inside the bulb "arc" causing gas to burn. This creates a much brighter light that draws far less current than much higher wattage filament based incandescent bulbs. Because there is no filament to break, HID bulbs tend to last several thousand hours, compared to filament bulbs. Hid based lights can sustain much higher levels of vibration and shock. Each bulb has approximately a 3,000 hour life span. The HL-15 comes complete with a 16 foot coil cord with a cigarette plug that runs off of 12 VDC. |
