The LED40W-PAR46-MOD1 from Larson Electronics is a 40 Watt Par 46 Replacement LED Bulb that is an excellent choice for upgrading existing PAR 46 incandescent bulb fixtures to LEDs as well as a direct replacement for our own LED light fixtures. The LED40W-PAR46-MOD1 features Milspec MS22759/16 wiring and complies with FAA regulations for wiring.
Government Part Number 12543890 (US Army). MILSPEC 461 certified.
This 40 watt LED bulb is a direct replacement for incandescent Par46 bulbs and produces 3600 lumens of light with a color temperature of 6000 K in white configuration. Also available in red, blue, green, amber, 850 Nm and 940 Nm infrared colors, this Par46 LED bulb has performance comparable to most incandescent Par46 bulbs. Capable of operating with voltages of 9 to 46 V DC. This 40 watt Par46 LED is an ideal replacement or upgrade for pre-existing, semi-permanent mount and handheld military lighting fixtures and spotlights as well as aircraft, security and industrial applications utilizing Par46 lamps.
This Par46 LED bulb provides numerous benefits and advantages over traditional incandescent lamps in that it is highly resistant to damage from shocks and vibration as well as up to 80% more efficient. The LEDs in this unit have an average lifespan rating of 50,000 hours, which reduces the costs and loss of productivity associated with maintaining and replacing traditional lamps. Producing 3600 lumens while drawing only 4 amps, this LED lamp easily outperforms 100 watt incandescent bulbs while drawing only half as many amps. There is no glass or filaments used in the construction of this LEB bulb and the aluminum body and solid state design of the LEDs results in a lamp that is as rugged as it is efficient.
LED Benefits:
Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life.
LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps.
Compatibility:
The LED40W-PAR46-MOD1 is certified Mil Spec 461 for EMI and is listed under Army part #12543890. This Par46 LED lamp is a direct replacement for incandescent Par46 bulbs and operates with 9 to 46V DC, making it suitable for use in vehicles, military transports, aircraft, boats and any equipment or vehicle that operates with 9-46 V DC electrical current. This lamp is also suitable for use in portable and semi-permanent mount applications requiring a Par46 lamp capable of operating with DC current. 6 inches in diameter and containing four 10 watt LEDs, this LED lamp produces as much or more light as a comparable 100 watt Par46 spotlight but does not produce as tight of a beam.
Durability/Versatility:
The aluminum housing and polycarbonate lens provides unparalleled durability and longevity, allowing this lamp to withstand conditions and use that would cause ordinary incandescent lamps to fail prematurely. This Par46 LED light is also available in infrared configuration for covert operations use and can be ordered in either 850 Nm for use with most older and more common night vision equipment and 940 Nm versions for use with the latest in military night vision technology. Infrared versions produce no visible light and can only be seen with night vision equipment and devices designed to work with light in the infrared spectrum.
Also available are red, blue, green and amber versions, allowing operators to utilize these LEDs in equipment designed for emergency, signaling, warning and other applications. Colored versions of these lamps provide additional benefits over incandescent lamps because there are no colored filters or lenses used to produce colored light with these LED lamps. Instead, specific LED chip materials are utilized to produce pure light in the desired color spectrum without any of the loss of output normally associated with lenses, resulting in more and purer light production. Additionally, there is no light degradation from the lens discoloration and clouding that normally occurs over the life of lamps with colored plastic lenses.
Wiring:
The LED40W-PAR46-MOD1 features 6" Milspec MS22759/16 flying leads (+/-) that comply with FAA regulations for wiring.
