Made in the USA The Larson Electronics EHL-LED-7W-12C Explosion Proof LED Drop Light / Trouble Light is UL Listed Class 1 Division 1 & 2 Groups C and D - and is ideal for general work activities in hazardous locations requiring explosion proof protection. This 10 watt explosion proof LED work light from Larson Electronics produces 1050 lumens of bright white light and comes complete with 12 feet of explosion proof cord. The EHL-LED-7W-12C LED drop light has no ballast and the housing is constructed of non sparking aluminum which results in a very lightweight unit. These LED drop lights improve on the desirable qualities of similar incandescent models with higher foot candle light output, cooler operation and better light quality, and are ideal for use in wet areas and close work. The cool operation, good light color and evenness of coverage makes these lights ideal for a wide variety of close quarter work and inspection activities. This hazardous location hand lamp is Class 1, Division 1 and 2 and Class 2 Division 1 and 2 hazardous location environment approved. Lamp: The 10-watt LED lamp used in this unit produces nearly 3 times the illumination of incandescent lamps as measured in foot candles, at less than 1/10th of the electricity usage and without the associated heat. This LED drop light runs at operating temperatures of 55° F, greatly reducing the chances of accidents or burns commonly associated with incandescent drop lights. This lamp has no ballast, which reduces lamp weight, a steel globe guard, and a stainless steel hook for easy overhead mounting. The solid state LED bulb has no filament, making it resistant to damage from impacts and dropping. This hand lamp has a high efficiency LED bulb that requires no ballast, so the operator doesn`t need to drag the ballast housing around. This can be particularly annoying when the ballast becomes entangled in the cord.
Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current applied and emitting light. With LED lights, there is no warm up time or cool down time before re-striking and provide instant illumination when powered on, adding to the reliability of LED technology. By nature, LED light sources run significantly cooler than traditional lamps, reducing the chance of accidental burns and increased temperatures due to heat emissions. This solid state design of light emitting diodes provides a more reliable, stable, durable, and energy efficient light source over traditional lighting.
Voltage: The drivers in this unit provide the ability to automatically monitor and adjust input current to maintain the correct LED voltage levels regardless of input levels across a specific range. These light towers can operate on current ranging from 120 to 277V AC 50/60 Hz for high voltage models (11V AC or 25V AC for low voltage models) without any modifications necessary as a result. This ability to sense and adjust input current also provides protection against voltage spikes and drops that can occur in electrical systems which would otherwise result in burning up or premature LED failure without it.
