This 0-10V dimmable explosion proof switch, which can be used in Group B rated locations and carries a NEMA 4X rating, provides a reliable method for operators to adjust the brightness of explosion proof lights connected to the switch in order to best accommodate the situation or workplace while maintaining safety within hazardous environments. Constructed of copper-free aluminum, the device features a rotary, maintained on/off switch below the dimmer as well as two normally closed contacts. The EPSW-20A-DRW is ideal for operators seeking a high quality explosion proof dimmer switch rated for use in hazardous areas designated Class, I, II and III environments, including Group B rated sites. This NEMA 4X rated dimmer with on/off switch is easily wall mounted via integral mounting tabs at two corners of the housing. Operators can choose between two hub sizes of either 1/2" or 3/4" and either a feed through or dead end configuration. The explosion proof switch cover and housing box is constructed of copper free aluminum for superior performance and durability. A NEMA 4X waterproof rating indicates that the enclosure provides a degree of protection to operators against access to hazardous parts, provides a degree of protection against environmental concerns such as the ingress of water, provides additional protection against corrosion and that the enclosure will not be damaged by the external formation of ice. This explosion proof dimmable rotary switch offers operators smooth, flicker-free dimming of lights for precise control of brightness level while maintaining the power delivered to the lamp. The EPSW-20A-DRW explosion proof dimmer switch also works to save energy while reducing energy costs and helping to extend the life of the connected lamp. The dimmable rotary switch features surge protection technology, advanced heat sinks to extend the service life of the switch and protection from possible interference from radios and other equipment. The unit is also very user friendly as the position of the rotary dial indicates the perceived light level. A rotary on/off switch can be found below the dimmer. The 2-pole switch features a double throw configuration with maintained action. Equipped with two positions, operators may access contact blocks that are rated at 20 amps inside the unit. Operation Voltage: The EPSW-20A-DRW operates on 600 V AC. This operation voltage covers 120V, 220V, 240V, 277V, 347V, 480V, and 600V. Note on Dimming Voltage/Amperage: The voltage range is 0-10V, with 0V being completely off and 10V being full power. The max resistance is calculated for up to 25 devices being controlled by this unit. This dimmer is NOT compatible with incandescent lamps or screw-in compact fluorescent lamps. This unit IS compatible with LED, HID, fluorescent, compact fluorescent, induction, and any type of lamp that the power supply or ballast is 0-10V capable and has 0-10V control wires. Hubs: These dimmer switches are not factory sealed and require external sealing fittings. This explosion proof switch is available with either 1/2" or 3/4" NPT tapped hubs. The conduit openings are provided on the top and bottom of the unit in feed through versions while dead end versions have a single conduit hub, providing easy and secure connection to main power line supplies. This rotary dimmer switch is compatible with explosion proof dimmable light fixtures with V+ and V- dimming control wires. This dimmer is not compatible with voltage dimming, the driver/ballast must have 0-10V control wires for dimming to be compatible. The EPSW-20A-DRW-N4X is suitable for use in environments where combustible dusts and particulates may be present as well as any other hazardous locations.  Mounting: External mounting lugs provide simple and secure mounting of the unit to walls and flat surfaces.
