This kit comes with a pair of 18-watt units that each have two UV fluorescent lamps that provide germicidal UV-C output at a range of 280 nm - 200 nm (254 nm peak). Capable of sanitizing handrails of escalators and power walks that operate up to 200 ft/min, the UV disinfection device is protected by a stainless steel enclosure. This sanitizer mounts on the inside of escalators or power walks, which offers peace of mind and confidence for people in the occupied area. The UV lights in these devices are strategically positioned to maximize UV output while the reflective mirror finish provides coverage to the belt itself as well as the sides of the belt. *Please note: This product produces UV light. Make sure to follow all safety guidelines and protocols found in the user manual. UVC light in the proper setting kills up to 99.9% of viruses, mold, spores, and bacteria. * The IND-HR-UVC-UXS-R1-BX-2L-120V-10X-2X kit sanitizes escalator handrails without contact and abrasive liquid cleaners using powerful UV technology. Shipped with two devices, each UV light in this kit is equipped with two UV fluorescent lamps. Each lamp in these units offers 2.4 watts of UV output, within the 200 nm to 280 nm UV-C range. Unlike UV LEDs that emit 276 nm to 283 nm, these germicidal fluorescent lights are optimized at 254 nm. The 254 nm band ensures maximum UV absorption during treatment. Sanitation using this UV-C wavelength with fluorescent lights has been tested extensively and is the current industry standard. Please note: The IND-HR-UVC-UXS-R1-BX-2L-120V-10X-2X kit includes two handrail sanitizers to cover both handrails on an escalator or power walk. This solution is recommended for escalators and power walks that operate up to 200 ft/min. With an expected lifespan of 8,000+ hours, the lights emit a flood beam pattern during UV treatment. The lamps DO NOT produce ozone. The handrail sanitizers are mounted internally which allows the system to be used in busy locations without risk of UV exposure. The units included with the IND-HR-UVC-UXS-R1-BX-2L-120V-10X-2X kit are compatible with motion sensing escalators. The handrail sanitizers themselves are NOT motion activated, but can be wired to motion sensing escalators so that the UV lights only turn on when the escalator is in motion instead of running continually. Please note: These units do NOT add motion sensing ability to existing escalators. They are simply compatible with escalators that already have motion sensing.
