The VPLHL-7WLED-PC-GR30-1227X24V from Larson Electronics is a Food Safe LED Trouble Light / Hand Lamp / Drop Light with Reel that is both waterproof and vapor proof and constructed and certified to prevent the intrusion of water and/or moisture into the handle and/or head when used as instructed in wet locations. This LED trouble light features a polycarbonate lens.
This 7 watt food safe LED work light from Larson Electronics produces 840 lumens and comes complete with a 30 foot long 16/3 SOW cord wrapped inside a retractable cord reel for long range and convenient operation. This waterproof and vapor proof drop light features a rubberized, insulated handle to provide a safe and secure grip and a stainless steel wire guard enclosure to protect the polycarbonate lens. Included with this vapor proof handlamp and cord reel is an inline transformer, allowing operators to plug this light into 120-277 volts and step down to 24 volt DC. These food safe LED drop lights improve on the desirable qualities of similar incandescent models with higher foot candle light output, cooler operation and better light quality, and are ideal for use in wet areas and close work. The cool operation, good light color and evenness of coverage makes these lights ideal for a wide variety of close quarter work and inspection activities.
The 7-watt LED lamp used in this food safe unit produces nearly 2 times the illumination of incandescent lamps as measured in foot candles, at less than 1/10th of the electricity usage and without the associated heat. This LED drop light runs at operating temperatures of +55°F, greatly reducing the chances of accidents or burns commonly associated with incandescent drop lights. This lamp has no ballast, which reduces lamp weight, a steel globe guard, and a stainless steel hook for easy overhead mounting. The solid state LED bulb has no filament, making it resistant to damage from impacts and dropping.
LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life.
LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps.
The cord reel is designed for a lift/drag of up to 30FT of 16AWG/3C SOW/SOOW round cable. Reel with cable installed/tested comes with 30FT active travel plus an additional 2FT for safety wrap and hook up. The slip ring enclosure is built to NEMA standard; 600V rated, and has 3 conductors (2 Live + 1 Ground). This reel is UL Listed (UL/cUL), and is constructed of durable steel, has a white powder coat finish and includes a ball stop and a ratchet with a lockout feature.
This food safe LED lamp with cord reel is available operates on a range from 120 to 277 volts AC and is stepped down to 24V DC via the inline transformer. OSHA requires the light to be plugged into a GFI protected outlet. This lamp illuminates an area approximately 8 feet wide in all directions, is certified waterproof and vapor proof, and suitable for use in wet areas.
