| Made in Texas - Made in USA The WCDE-8K-4X1000W-MH-M3 Mobile Metal Halide Light Tower from Larson Electronics is a towable lighting package powered by an 8kW generator. Equipped with four metal halide lamps, the telescoping light tower extends to a maximum height of 25 feet. All system components are secured to a heavy-duty trailer with DOT-approved lights. This TAA compliant product is made in the USA. The WCDE-8K-4X1000W-MH-M3 mobile light tower is a reliable solution for deploying wide-area lighting in outdoor, remote locations. This unit is supported by an 8,000 watt generator, which supplies the current to four metal halide lights secured at the top of the tower. The light mast system can provide 60 hours of continuous operation, at a maximum height of 25 feet. This mobile package comes with a license plate holder with lights and a manual holder with an operating manual. An included generator (8kW standby) provides power for the four metal halide lights and equipment. The diesel engine is a brushless unit with three cylinders. A 50-gallon poly fuel tank allows the engine to operate continuously for up to 60 hours without refueling. The 8,000 watt generator produces 120/240V volt current. There are two receptacles on the unit: (1) L6-30R and (1) GFCI duplex 5-20R. Light Fixtures: This portable light tower is equipped with four, 1,000-watt metal lamps. The flood lights have round aluminum reflectors and are protected by tempered glass lens and silicone gaskets for moisture and dust protection. There are individual flood light on/off switches for control. Equipped with ballast indicator lights, each metal halide lamp is protected by a 15-amp breaker. This unit also features a 30-amp start limit breaker. Telescoping Boom: The three stage steel light mast is designed to allow operators to quickly and safely deploy four metal halide lights in locations where this equipment must be elevated to heights up to 25 feet for effective coverage. This powder coated black light boom can be extended to 25 feet for maximum area coverage and collapsed for applications where a smaller footprint is required. The tower is constructed of vertical tubular steel frame and features urethane guides on all sides of the mast tubes. The mast is elevated using an included electric winch system (950 lb self-braking). A 44" wide and 2" by 2" by 1/4" thick mounting plate is attached to the upper section of the mast, which provides a strong and stable platform for the metal halide lights. The LM family of telescoping towers feature a proprietary mast guidance system, which provide increased stability during high winds. When lowered, the mast can withstand winds up to 65 mph. When elevated to its full upright position, the mast can be rotated a full 360°. By loosening the T-Handle, operators can rotate the mast with ease in either direction. The mast can be positioned in one of four different directions, and locked back in place by re-tightening the T-handle. The mast itself spins freely with ease, and can typically be rotated with a single hand. Housing: All of the operating components are housed within a protective compartment constructed of UV resistant steel and provides airflow for cooling. The design and construction of this enclosure helps this unit operate at a low noise level. This system features stainless steel hinged doors. Trailer: The system is mounted onto a two-wheel trailer with DOT-approved tail, side, brake and directional lights. A standard two-inch ball coupling and two standard safety chains with spring loaded hooks allow for easy hookup and towing. Four adjustable leveling jacks and side outriggers are accessible for stable deployment. A front step platform, lifting eye and fork pockets are available on this system. Applications: This portable light tower is suitable for use in remote locations, such as temporary camps, construction sites, military bases and areas without reliable access to the grid.
