The EPL-HB-13K-LED from Larson Electronics is a Class I Division 1 Explosion Proof LED hazardous area LED light fixture designed to withstand harsh conditions and provide operators with superior illumination while using much less power than more traditional lights such as metal halide fixtures. The EPL-HB-13K-LED features easy installation in both new construction and retrofit projects as well as extremely durable die cast aluminum construction. The explosion proof LED lights are ideal for a wide variety of applications and hazardous environments.
The EPL-HB-13K-LED Explosion Proof LED Light Fixture is rated for Class I Division 1 Groups B, C & D, Class II Groups E, F & G and Class III hazardous environments. The LED lighting unit is also rated for marine environments, wet locations and hose down areas with both NEMA 4X and IP66 ratings. The EPL-HB-13K-LED has a 60,000+ hour rated service life and can operate 24/7 for 365 continuous days. This LED luminare is shock and vibration resistant with no filaments or glass components that can break and a shatter resistant explosion proof glass.
Light Information: The EPL-HB-13K-LED offers operators a bright source of light for a large variety of hazardous environments and in areas that require a continuous source of consistent light levels in areas with extreme ambient temperatures. The EPL-HB-13K-LED produces 13,583 lumens of cool white light with a color temperature of 5000K.
LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life.
LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps.

Mounting: The EPL-HB-13K-LED is a pendant mount unit that has 3/4" NPT threaded hubs. This explosion proof LED light can be pendant, ceiling or wall mounted. This LED light is recommended for areas with mounting heights of up to 30 feet.
