Made in Texas The EPSLED-80-SOL-80C-C1D2-20C-MOD1 Solar Powered Explosion Proof LED Light from Larson Electronics is a reliable lighting solution for remote areas and standalone applications where connection to external power is either impractical or unavailable. Equipped with 20` of 16/2 SOOW cord, this 10-watt strobe lamp offers 360 degrees of illumination and is protected by a cage guard. Charged by a Class I, Division 2 solar panel, two 20aH lithium-ion batteries provide constant, reliable power to the LED light. The EPSLED-80-SOL-80C-C1D2-20C-MOD1 is a sustainable LED lighting solution for hazardous locations and remote sites. This explosion proof 10-watt lamp operates on 12V DC and is charged by the Class I, Division 2 rated solar panel and two 12V AC 12aH lithium-ion batteries, which provide constant, reliable power. The batteries, Class I, Division 2 charge controller and battery disconnect are contained within a NEMA 4X enclosure and must be installed within a Class I, Division 2 environment. Light Fixture: This explosion proof strobe light offers 1,235 candela during operation. The lamp housing is waterproof, constructed of heavy cast aluminum, and tested to withstand 1490 lbs. per square inch of hydrostatic pressure. The LED lamp assembly is protected by a heavy aluminum cage guard and an impact and heat resistant clear prismatic globe with heavy gauge aluminum reflector that affords excellent light control. Factory sealed and finished in a durable polyester powder coating, this lamp can be ordered with red, blue, green, amber, purple and white light colors. Please choose lamp color when ordering.
LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life. LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. Solid state LED lighting is also safer for the environment as LEDs are 100% recyclable. And recycling simultaneously reduces operating costs by eliminating the need for the expensive special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps. Solar Panel: The solar panel is designed to withstand rugged, outdoor environments. The frame is constructed of silver anodized aluminum, while the back cover is made out of white polyester for insulation. For extra protection, the front cover is constructed of high transmission glass (1/8" thick). The hazardous location solar panel comes with a sturdy J-type junction box with accessible terminals for connections to other components of the solar-powered system. As with all solar powered equipment, charging time is affected by the amount of available ambient light. Indirect sunlight and low ambient light levels, such as on cloudy days, will extend the charge time. Battery Enclosure: Two, 20aH lithium-ion batteries and a charge controller are protected by a Class I, Division 2 NEMA 4X rated stainless steel enclosure. A three-position switch with the following functions are available for control: On/Off/Remote. The remote function allows an external source to supply a 24V DC supply power signal to turn the light on. This feature can be used with external motion sensors, day/night sensors or other systems to trigger the light. Wiring: This strobe light fixture ships with 20 feet of 16/2 SOOW cord that connects the explosion proof light to the solar panel. During installation, field wiring can be implemented for connecting the panel and light to the enclosure. This option is recommended for installations wherein the wire must be passed through walls and/or conduit. Field wiring also caters to specific configurations, such as the light installed inside a building, the battery enclosure installed at ground level or outside and the panel outside for maximum exposure to sunlight. The enclosure can be field penetrated for added control circuit wiring. Custom lengths are available upon request. Please contact us for special requirements. Mounting: The EPSLED-80-SOL-80C-C1D2-20C-MOD1 features an inverted pendant mount for compatible surfaces, walls or ceilings. This mounting configuration ensures maximum visibility of the explosion proof LED fixture. NOTE: Larson Electronics has further upgraded the options available with this light. We expect the light to be mounted separately from the panel. This means the solar panel can be mounted in direct sunlight (not in the hazardous area) while the light is mounted in a hazardous area workspace. Standard installation for explosion proof lighting, including threaded rigid pipe to the LED light fixture and appropriate seal-offs, etc. are required. Suggested Applications: Paint spray booths, aircraft maintenance, oil drilling rigs, refineries, solvent and cleaning areas, gas processing plants, chemical manufacturing, waste treatment plants, remote locations and more.
