| The EXP-EL-SR-IS-WS-FM from Larson Electronics is an Intrinsically Safe Floor Water Sensor capable of detecting water and conductive liquids in combustible environments. This unit does not consume electricity and comes with a normally open circuit configuration. Constructed of plastic with stainless steel conductivity electrodes, the immersion-type sensor offers instant response during use. The EXP-EL-SR-IS-WS-FM is designed for real-time detection of water/spills inside industrial facilities and flammable environments. This intrinsically safe unit detects water and conductive liquids with resistance less than 4 meg. Suitable for immersion with excellent repeatability, the sensor is equipped with a normally open circuit. This configuration allows the sensor to close the circuit upon detecting water or conductive liquids, triggering an alarm (not included) or other preferred function. Response time is instant when detecting water, while response time for other liquids depend on conductivity of the substance. Constructed of plastic with stainless steel conductivity electrodes, this unit requires a compatible, customer-provided liquid monitor to complete the system. During operation, the unit does not consume electricity (zero current). As a result, this intrinsically safe device is immune to EMI and RFI interference. The floor water sensor is capable of functioning below its operating temperature range, as long as the liquid does not thicken or solidify. Wiring: The EXP-EL-SR-IS-WS-FM is compatible with 2-conductor wiring. Mounting: This unit can be mounted on the floor or to a wall that is located close to the target area (floor). Operators may access slotted flanges at both sides of the intrinsically safe device during installation. Applications: Combustible sites, flood/spill detection, flood/spill protection, storage rooms, control rooms, libraries, museums, industrial work sites, manufacturing floors, boiler rooms, hallways, schools and more. |
