' Product Overview '
Made in the USA The Larson Electronics HDFL-BCL-TA-LED-DS-R LED Barricade Warning Light provides visual warning when mainstream power is unavailable. The battery-powered LED light is 100% portable and provides a highly effective alternative to beacons that require wiring and permanent mounting. Powered by four D-cell batteries, this Type A strobe light flashes 60 times per minute. This particular unit has a 7" lexan red lens and a photocell sensor for automatic dusk-to-dawn operation. The HDFL-BCL-TA-LED-DS-R is a powerful and compact strobing solution for outdoor applications. The battery-powered lamp produces a Type A strobe and features a 7" red lexan lens. This strobe lamp flashes 60 times per minute during use. The device is equipped with a photocell for automatic dusk-to-dawn operation. A pin push switch can be used to select the following settings on the unit: On, Flashing and Off. The durability, portability and high power of this LED beacon makes it ideal for towing, trailers, security, work areas, roadside emergencies, warehouses, and anywhere a fast and simple beacon solution with plenty of power is needed. Strobe Types: There are three types of strobe lights, based on lighting functionality: Type A, Type B and Type C. Type A lights feature a strobing light configuration and is suitable for visual warnings, markings and notification. A Type B light is high intensity and may have a glare shield. For Type C lights, the units provide steady burn lighting. LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life. LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps. Power: The HDFL-BCL-TA-LED-DS-R is powered by four, D-cell batteries (6V operation). Mount: This compact LED light can be mounted on surfaces. Applications: Emergency services, search and rescue, law enforcement, service fleets, towing operations, trucks, forklifts, security, checkpoints, landmarking, obstruction lighting, warning light and more.
